When I saw this I was sad I had to give up my bikes. If only it was so simple. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-43308729 "The immune system declines by about 2-3% a year from our 20s, which is why older people are more susceptible to infections, conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and, potentially, cancer. "Because the cyclists have the immune system of a 20-year-old rather than a 70- or 80-year-old, it means they have added protection against all these issues."

Hello Only 6 months into caravanning so we're new to this and hoping for some help and advice. We're looking for a seasonal site somewhere approximately around Conwy (travel up to an hour to Anglesey). We have 2 children, but nevertheless would like a quiet site, walkable to local village shop, pub if possible. We're quite active too, so walks and cycling would be great. I've searched on the internet but I genuinely think that some of the nicest caravan sites might night be showing up in searches. I'm hoping that some help and suggestions might come through this forum. Fingers crossed. Family Hawkins

http://www. bbc. co. uk/news/uk-england-leeds-28339481 British cycling legend Brian Robinson, 83, has been taken to hospital after being knocked off his bike near his home in West Yorkshire. The pioneering veteran road racer was hit by a car while out riding with friends in Thornhill Lees on Wednesday. In 1955 he became the first Briton to finish the Tour de France and in 1958 was the first to win a stage.

I took part in my first Sportive on Sunday, 60 miles around the Woking area, starting from Chobham. I was chuffed to bits with my time, 4 hrs 28 mins, I had thought it would be more like 6 hours. My average speed was 13. 9mph, and my fastest 32mph!! I really enjoyed it, it was a beautiful route. We stayed at a CC CL (Abbots Shingle) which was very peaceful, The route passed the gate and we managed to pop in for a toilet stop and to grab a sandwich. I definitely plan to enter again next year. Does anyone else take part in these events?
