  1. Hi all, We took delivery of our Compass Casita 860 caravan yesterday, what a setup it is. I just wondered if anyone had any advice in regards to wall mounting a TV in the end bedroom. We are unsure of where we can actually drill etc. The socket with antenna output, 12 volt and normal 3 prong UK plug is mounted above a light switch on the side of the bathroom wall, relatively far up. We’ve just bought one of the Avtex TV swivel mounts designed for Caravan and motorhomes. Unfortunately, we’ve never needed to mount a TV in a caravan before, previous vans came installed with all mounting hardware already. Some reason the new vans no longer do? The TV for bedroom is only a small 12 volt Cello 20 inch model so it is designed for Caravan use. I have attached a floor plan and circled in red seems to be best mount point. Is that small cover/box (circled in red on below picture) in the corner of the bathroom removable? I assume this houses the wiring looms and such? If anyone knows if this cover is removable, I assume we can simply drill so the screws go straight through the wall in to in here (once we’ve moved the wires and such out of the way) then screw them into a couple blocks of wood for added strength and rigidity and then be hidden away behind this cover. i hope someone can advise thanks Ryan
  2. Hope you don’t mind me asking but I have an electrical question regarding our mobile caravan. Compass Amega 2007. Here goes.... When we were away recently connected to an electric hook up, something odd happened to our supply of electricity. Whilst the kettle was boiling the electricity to the kettle stopped. We tried a new electric hook up lead and a different site electric point but all the plug sockets in the van were still not working. All the lights were working fine. The vans main electric fused box had not tripped or the sites. My question is before we pay out for an electrician to take a look. Could it be a simple job for us to do, we have relatively no electrical experience. What do you think?
  3. Hi all, Just noticed that Elddis have revealed whats to come in their 2019 range of caravans, including Avante, Affinity, Crusader, Xplore, Compass and Bucaneer. Thoughts? http://www. elddis. co. uk
  4. Hi guys, narrowed down my new caravan to either a Swift Challenger 640 or a Compass Rallye 634, if anyone on here has either of these caravans how do you find them? Sitting and playing about in them for a short while at the dealers can only tell you so much. Need a caravan thats good for two youngish kids. Thanks, Jake M :-)
  5. Hi all, Been looking about on here and on the world wide interwebs. .. But I cannot find any details for the Compass Liberte 5 berth caravan. .. Ideally I'd like a PDF so that I can have a good read also any reviews so I can prepare myself for any potential issues etc. Apart from a couple of old sales posts, there are no details! It's as though the caravan never existed. Any hiding places I should look? Phil
  6. From the album: History

Purchased 2007. Forget the year. Hot water at last. Was a very reliable van, nothing broke and was totally dry when traded in 2010.

  7. Hi to you all out there. I am interested in knowing how many of the current owners of Elddis/The Explorer Group caravan owners have vans made after the year 2000. I have also posted a question and poll into Caravan Chat,it is about membership of The Elddis Owners Club.
  8. First caravan bought 1976 - Alpine of course - with a drop down double bed. Since then have had Adria, Ace, Compass, Swift and several others whose names I have forgotten. First towcar was Hillman Avenger latest one Hyundai ix35. Never had any wobbling, snaking or anything else so presume I am doing things correctly. Currently have 2012 Sterling Eccles Sport 564 with which, due to dampness problems, I am not impressed. More later on different forums I hope.
  9. Hi, We are new to the caravan world and have an old Compass Rallaye 51. We have a strange problem in that when we turn on our taps for the kitchen sink no water comes out. If we turn on the bathroom taps and/or shower tap the water will then run also in the kitchen. If we turn the bathroom taps off the water stops running in the kitchen. The toilet also will not flush at any time. It was all working a few days ago. We have a cascade socket that was tripping out but I have replaced the submersible pump and that now does not trip out. Can anybody help?
  10. Now that we have returned from the 2014 Season Preview up at Elddis’ County Durham factory, we are very pleased and excited to offer a preview of the new Compass range, returning to the UK market in September 2013 after a 4 year absence. The Explorer Group are responding to the fantastic customer reception of the pioneering SoLiD Construction method, one year after its launch, by dramatically increasing its availability. SoLiD Construction is now being used for all Elddis, Xplore and Buccaneer tourers and motorhomes, as well as for the new 2014 Compass range. The 3 new Compass models for 2014 will each have 4 established layouts. The reinstatement of Compass will offer customers a whole new range of popular layout options from a familiar brand with a loyal following, now benefiting from an industry leading construction technique. RRPs for the new Compass Ranges are as follows, with delivery charges of £495 across the range. Corona 462 - £15,499 Corona 540/ 574 / 576 - £16,999 Omega 482 - £18,249 Omega 540 / 550 / 574 - £19,299 Rallye Mistral (554) / Shamal (574) - £21,599 Rallye Supersirocco (634) / Storm (644) - £24,499 Another revelation is that the new Compass range - the Corona, the Omega and the Rallye - are all built on the AL-KO chassis, offering further familiarity to a huge new potential customer base. The Corona, the Omega and the Rallye all have a lighter and more traditional look than their Elddis counterparts; the Compass models have white GRP locker doors and skirts, as well as changes to interior locker door styles, curtains, carpets and upholstery. The distinctive Compass graphics are also back of course, and looking better than ever. The Compass dealer network will be revealed in the not-too-distant future. We’ll keep you posted with news as we receive it. For now, suffice to say that Compass is back on the map and coming soon to a dealer near you (unfortunately we don’t have any dramatic Hollywood-esque music to play whilst you read this sentence so you’ll have to imagine it). We’re sure you’ll enjoy exploring the new Compass range for yourself. We’re not going to pinch too much of Compass’ thunder; instead of a full-blown scoop of the whole range, for now we’re just going to give you a preview of one model. .. The Rallye 574 gives Compass a layout increasingly popular with couples - twin single beds on a single axle. This offers practical, comfortable style married to towability. Ta-da. .. The 2013 Compass Rallye prototype will be undergoing some minor changes prior to the full launch. The preview above should offer a good introduction to the Compass relaunch however, and we’re keen to see the changes in the flesh
  11. Just received the following press release from Elddis! Some of the Caravan Talk team will be heading to the Press Preview next month, so let us know your questions, comments and what you'd like photographed and we'll do our best to make it happen!
