  1. Hello! So I have two 25ft 1976 Airstream Caravans and I want to renovate and refurbish them and turn them into a visitors home for when family and friends come to visit and have them right next to my house. I want to turn one of them into a little kitchen, dining area/living area and a bathroom and make the other caravan into a 2 bedroom space. The caravans will be static as I am planning to have them by my house and not travel with them. Since I am on a budget, I'm not looking to restore them into their vintage original state with all the original parts and interior. I am simply looking to renovate them and make them into a cosy visitors area. Also since the caravans are gonna be static, I won't be needing any special lightweight and expensive materials for the renovations. I am looking for someone that truly loves renovating mobile homes and caravans and understands both the technical and creative process of the entire thing. If you know ANYONE, a service, company or an independent individual that does this in the London or Suffolk area or if you are one, please let me know!Send me your email in PM and I will get back to you as soon as I can! Thank you in advance.
  2. https://www. toliverrv. com/ This is a link to an American dealership showing their stock. Fascinating to see the differences, lots of slide-outs, 5th wheelers etc. Hitch weight would be a problem with most I think! Oh yes and they are cheaper!
  3. Having purchased a new Isabella Ambassador Seed Awning and now looking at groundsheets can anybody enlighten me to the difference between the Isabella Bolon groundsheets and the Bolon groundsheets you can buy off the roll in the accessories shops.
  4. Just moved up from tent after 40+ years camping man and boy but now enjoying the caravanning lifestyle. .. Little two berth Bailey Ranger purchased from neighbour one year ago, excellent purchase and all in camping world has been great so far. Had four trips this year to Devon and Cornwall and now off touring the other great counties of southern England before heading north to Lake District later in the year. What a great life . ... Will be upgrading van in New Year probably to a Unicorn Seville unless anyone persuades me otherwise. Opinions welcome. . PS i can't understand why anyone would want to take a TV on holiday? Controversial topic perhaps but probably a future post for discussion. ...

  9. This week we are very excited as our friends at BBQ Talk have just launched their brand new website - and we have to say, it looks fantastic! In honour of this auspicious occasion, we have ‘come over all barbecue’; reminiscing about delicious barbecue meals we’ve enjoyed during trips away, relaxing in the open air with good company. Yes, when the weather is fine, barbecues and caravanning go hand in hand. Of course the summer is the perfect time to cook food outdoors; long, warm days offer plenty of opportunities to fire up the barbecue, and it is so much better to cook food in the great outdoors without the hassle of working up a sweat indoors. However, at any time of year you can enjoy the delights of cooking and eating outdoors. So just what is it about eating food outside that makes it taste more delicious and creates such a memorable experience? Perhaps it is the distinct smell of barbecue food combined with clean, fresh air that purifies the senses. Or, perhaps it is relaxing on a gorgeous campsite after a busy day sightseeing with a delicious meal in one hand, cold beverage in the other, watching the sun go down over a spectacular vista. With the stress and demands of normal daily life seemingly miles away at times like that, it is no wonder that we are getting a little misty-eyed when we recall these experiences! From traditional steak and sausages, to pizzas and even desserts, with a little bit of imagination practically anything can be cooked on a barbecue. In fact, many seasoned caravanners barely use the kitchen in their vans at all, choosing instead to cook up meal after meal on their trusty BBQ. And if you’ve never cooked bacon and eggs on the BBQ as the sun comes up over a mist-shrouded campsite, then you are seriously missing out on one of life’s greatest pleasures! So to enjoy all the delights that eating outdoors can bring, an essential piece of equipment for any caravanner is a barbecue. It is well worth taking a little bit of time to research the market, as there is so much choice available these days. From gas and charcoal BBQs, to electric and portable, plus essential accessories including tongs, baskets, smoking planks, rubs and sauces, there is a lot more to barbecuing than you might think. To help you decide on the barbecue and accessories that best suit you, first consider your eating likes and dislikes. Plan your meals, then decide exactly what equipment you need. Barbecue cooking involves a certain amount of skill and innovation, but with a little practice, the right tools, creativity and great advice from your caravanning neighbours you can become a professional outdoor barbecue chef in next to no time. Plus don’t forget our friends at BBQ Talk - a true one-stop-shop for everything BBQ, including advice, hints and tips, loads of great recipes and essential products to help you create mouthwatering dishes each and every time you fire up the barbecue, whatever the season!

List your reasons below
