Hi. Does anyone know if the route through the Gotthard tunnel involve towing the caravan up steep mountains? We are travelling from Black Forrest Germany to Basel then to Milan Italy and from there to Sicily. I have never done that route before and I am worried that I might get in trouble with towing the caravan if this route involves steep hills. Any advice is very welcome. Elaina

My wife has brought home the latest Aldi brochure & there is a caravanning week commencing Sunday 25th March, items that interested me were the HD TV at £124. 99 & sat dish at £59. 99, there is also a twin tub washing machine of the type often seen on rallies abroad at £69. 99, low wattage kettle, mini oven, chairs, windbreaks, solar panels & aquarolls, I am definitely going to buy the foot pump at £12. 99, mine packed in last week so it couldn’t have come at a better time. The site is not live yet with these offers so the Aldi brochure is the only way to see them, it ma

Our son is of an age he likes to have his bike around, and we like to bike with him. .....so presently we take 3 bikes on the roof of our current Insignia estate car on most caravanning weekends. Climbing up to mount bikes on the estate is easy enough But here's the issue, we're considering changing to a volvo xc70, but there's probably more xc60's around in the configuration we want (manual, diesel, 160 or 180bhp, and a particular colour my wife prefers. at a price we can afford), and we're usually in th

There always seems to be people that pigeon hole caravanning with the 'older generation' - we think this is nonsense! Caravanning is our passion - and we believe all should it enjoy it! We get lots of families come in excited about finding a new van to explore the country with their young children, but for some reason society automatically assumes that caravanning is only for older people? What are your thoughts on this? Do you think all generations caravan? Or that is may put some people off? Or do you have a possible reason for why you think society stereotypes caravanner

We watched a caravanning documentary the other day about the British love for caravanning and a look back on caravan history. It mentioned about the times where you could just pitch up your caravan anywhere you wanted - a wood, forest, by a river, on the side of the road - anywhere! Obviously times have changed and you can no longer pitch anywhere you like, with laws in place to restrict where you stay. Do you think caravanning would be more enjoyable or interesting if you could pitch up anywhere you wanted rather than a dedicated campsite? And if the answer is yes, do you th
