  1. Hi, does anyone know what the design of wallboard used in the 2017 Buccaneer range. Regards, Postie
  2. Are there any Cruiser owners who use their Sky box in their caravan? The very small TV shelf on the right of the entry door does not seem to be wide enough to take the standard Sky box. The only logical place that I can see is in the cupboard above the microwave. Has anyone found a good solution to this? We currently have the Affinity 530 which has almost a dedicated AV cupboard, so we have been a bit spoilt. Cheers. Alistair
  3. Well it really does feel like Christmas Eve right now. I have forgotten how this feel to be honest but we are all super excited. The car is packed with essentials and bedding etc. The local CMC site is booked near the dealer and we are collecting our Buccaneer Aruba tomorrow for our very first caravan and night away in it, all in one go. Wow. I've had a towing experience at the Manchester show, but that is ALL!!! Shock. I'm sure I'll be fine (hilarious). Tow bar is fitted ready and we have been assured that we are going to have a dedicated afternoon of instruction and handover from our dealer. We have decided on the Bradcot Modul Air awning and we pick that up tomorrow with the Aruba. I'm thinking that If we do all of this as our first outing and it snows then we will have had EVERYTHING thrown at us and we will learn VERY quickly indeed. Update tomorrow and some pictures too!! Mike
  4. As some of you may know I have had five replacement sets of Ozio cushions for my 2015 Buccaneer and when I complained about the latest set my dealer replied as copied below. I spoke to my credit card company and they said that under section 75 there is no comeback as the van is now out of warranty and section 75 has to show a breach of contract. The next set will be coming from elsewhere at my expense. I did ask the dealer to confirm the meaning of ‘occasional use’ but he has not bothered to reply. Anybody buying a new Elddis might like to ask their dealer to define ‘occasional use’. Ian Good Afternoon I have been in touch with both Elddis and Leisure furnishings regarding your upholstery. Both of who state that your upholstery has a one year warranty from the caravan date of purchase 17/06/2015. Leisure furnishings have been replacing your upholstery as a good will gesture and as you are aware your latest set is the best they can offer. They do state that you may see others advertised offering alternatives but state that these are not within the weight range for the caravan. Elddis also state that as your caravan is designed as a leisure vehicle it is intended for occasional use and not prolonged use. As the last claim for upholstery was rejected 07/08/17 as out of warranty and as stated at the time Leisure furnishings supplied replacements under goodwill. A claim 10/11 months later will obviously be rejected too. Therefore the claim you have has been rejected by all parties. I realise this is not the answer you are looking for but I have done all I can on this matter. Regards **** ******* Director

  6. So. .... We took delivery of our 2013 Buccaneer Clipper on 18th May. ...the dealer (Bicester Caravan & Leisure - great PDI as everything worked from day 1) had booked us onto a local site (Greenhill Leisure Park) for the first night so we could make sure that everything worked. It was a great site, the people were really friendly & helpful, so we decided to stay for the week, prior to heading off to Cheshire to see Pam's parents and do a bit of sight-seeing. Last Saturday saw us heading north (M40/M5/M6) to Lamb Cottage Caravan Park near Winsford - again a great site - for a week's break, making a total of 12 nights spent "on board" (I had to nip home for a couple of days during the first week because of work commitments). Our observations, based on the first two weeks ownership?? The BPW chassis seems to tow much more smoothly than the Al-Ko chassis on the Bailey Unicorn Barcelona we had previously - we had one IDC activation on a VERY bumpy "B" road in rural Oxfordshire but otherwise a pleasure to tow The PowrTouch EVO AWD movers we had swapped over from the Barcelona seem to work better on the Clpper, but I couldn't explain how or why!! We have a 50% rating on the new Avtex TV aerial so far, as it worked faultlessly in Oxfordshire, but was almost useless in Cheshire, so the jury is still out on whether it will work effectively enough. ....however. .... The satellite pre-installation and the Avtex TV with built-in satellite receiver made it fabulously simple to access free-view - so much so that we bought a dish for future use on sites where the TV signal is weak (something we always said we wouldn't buy!!! We had a pulsing water pump when using the bathroom tap, but a brief fiddle with the pressure switch seems to have resolved that. ...not sure if I did it correctly - I did try to follow the instructions!!! The kitchen tap is positioned really badly in relation to the sink cover - we managed to turn on the tap and wet the sofa cushion 5 times whilst trying to close the glass cover!!! Slightly confused why the EXT position on the water system actually fills the on-board tank, rather than supplying water directly to the tap as the name suggests! The button to flush the loo seems to take a h*ll of a lot of effort to push at 03:00!! We thought we should get duvets as well as covers when we ordered the bedding pack - Bicester C&L are chasing Elddis to find out what should have arrived!! The Isabella Magnum awning we bought at the NEC on the day we ordered the Clipper fits beautifully and looks AWESOME!! The beds are really comfortable - we both slept much better than on the Barcelona despite the torrential rain last Monday/Tuesday nights! Will we ever use the remote controller for the Alde heating??? It seems really weird to be able to see out of the windows, knowing that, at least during the day, nobody can see in!! The BPW wheel locks are marginally easier to fit than the Al-Ko equivalent, although fitting either is made much easier with the movers fitted. There is definitely more storage on the Barcelona than the Clipper but as we only travel as a couple, there is still plenty. With a surname like Buckley, it's marvelous to have that enormous letter B on the back panel!!!!! lol All in all, a great way to test out the Clipper. .....and are we happy???? You bet your life we are!!!!
  7. I've owned this caravan since new and I have never been able to connect both lounge and bedroom TV to the one sky box, does anyone have experience of this and how it's done? Buccaneer head office refuse to send me a coax/ aerial wiring diagram for health and safety reasons :/
  8. I have recently bought a Buccaneer Clipper 2012, it only came with one set of keys, I have tried to source replacements but have had no luck, they are the laser cut snake type, any ideas, I have tried Buccaneer dealers without any luck
  9. Hi to you all out there. I am interested in knowing how many of the current owners of Elddis/The Explorer Group caravan owners have vans made after the year 2000. I have also posted a question and poll into Caravan Chat,it is about membership of The Elddis Owners Club.
  10. The Buccaneer range of touring caravans has been updated for 2014, and the opulence oozes. The range of layouts offers plenty of options, and all models come with a vast array of top-end spec. In the words of Elddis MD Rob Quine, in Buccaneer caravans, “all the specification that could be possibly desired comes as standard. ” The 2014 Buccaneer caravans all feature SoLiD Construction with the 10 year water ingress warranty. The instantly recognisable silver exteriors are back, including one-piece silver GRP sides, and the tinted windows offer both privacy and cooler internal temperature in hot weather. 65w roof-mounted solar panels as standard and a motorised rooflight, that closes automatically when it senses wet weather, ensure that the Buccaneer range is equipped to make the most of rain or shine. Inside, Buccaneer customers will find low-level mood lighting, a flat-screen 18” LED television (with external satellite connection point), a dual-fuel hob and large domestic style fridge-freezer, a 40l on-board water tank and a touch screen ALDE central heating and hot water system with 24 programmable telemetric control as standard. All of this sits on a BPW chassis with intelligent drive control for improved towing performance and safety. 11. Hi, When we ordered our Buccaneer Clipper at the NEC Spring Show, we also purchased the bedding pack as part of the deal (whether or not this was a good idea is a bit of a moot point I know) In the Buccaneer brochure, the description for the bedding pack says: Luxury day covers for fixed-bed models - includes 1 shaped duvet (2 on twin bed models) and 2 pillowcases and pillows, 2 co-ordinating scatter cushions and 1 co-ordinating throw When the van was delivered, we received two duvet covers and all of the other items, but not the duvets themselves and so we reported this to our dealer, who has spent the last three months trying to get hold of the missing items from Elddis. I received a phone call this morning to tell me that the bedding pack in fact only contains the duvet covers, not the duvets themselves, which I find completely incomprehensible as none of the beds in the Buccaneer range are standard household sizes and therefore it would be impossible to purchase duvets to fit without having them custom made, making the bedding pack ridiculously poor value for money. (We bought the Bailey one at a similar price for our last caravan and of course the duvet was included as well as the cover) I have challenged my dealer to take this back to Elddis on the basis that (i) their brochure is misleading and (ii) we would never have bought the bedding pack, had we known, but I also though it might be worth asking the esteemed forum two simple questions: When you purchased your Buccaneer, did you also purchase the bedding pack? Please could you tell me exactly what was included in the bags you received I would be very grateful, as would our dealer, for any information you can provide Kind Regards Nick
