We have the lunar quasar 615 2006. We're struggling to watch TV when all 5 of us are in. We've worked out you can remove the set of drawers at the front but it doesn't fit on the floor under the bed slats. We're not sure if you're supposed to move the drawers or leave them in place when you make up the double bed ¿(we use them as singles). I can't find any information out there! Even the manual that comes with the caravan doesn't cover beds
Hi all, first post and looking for recommends please. We plan to upgrade our 1990s compass to a new fixed bed model but have been struck with how few manufacturers appear to cater for taller caravanners (I'm 6' 2"). Any other lofty members out there who have found their perfect caravan bed? Many thanks.
I have been thinking, always dangerous I know. It started when I was considering converting a van into a motorhom. I looked at many options kits etc. and decided that I wasn't sure but one thing that struck me was the seating arrangements compared to those in caravans. My thoughts turned to the possibility of 'captains style' seats in caravans. As I'm not as young as I used to be and I suffer, though not too seriously from the ubiquitous 'bad back' I find caravan seating generally terrible. The seat bases are too long, the back rests too low (I'm 6 ft and struggle so shorter folk must have even more trouble getting comfy). I usually end up stretching out and lounging. Also taking into account the position(s) of the TV where I find it very difficult to find a good viewing position, I have a suggestion. A friend of mine with a motorhomes suggested that most owners spend most time in the driving and passenger seats as they are the most comfortable. So what are your views on having a similar arrangement in a caravan? My thoughts are to put 2 in the front of a caravan but not beside the front window but further back at the other end of the dinette. These would be reclining and swivelling. I realise that weight may be an issue but the seats do not need to be as substantial as those in a motorhomes as the do not need to withstand a crash etc. I also suggest that there would be a long bench across the caravan under the window giving an additional 3 seats for guests this could also contain slats that would pull out to make a double bed. Clearly storage could be an issue but the swivel base could be on top of a storage unit for the heater grubbing or bedding etc. The advantages of such an arrangement would be the provision of comfortable seating for 2 for both relaxing and TV viewing. This arrangement would be most suitable for a 2 berth caravan but I'm sure it could be adapted for larger berths. Anyway I have sent this suggestion to the maker of my caravan (Bailey) but I would be very interested to know what folk feel about this arrangement. Thanks for reading.
