Lower screen on control panel completely blank. returned original to alde who tested and said all ok, just in case they have sent me a new one,which is the same (blank) checked all visable wires all look ok. Any ideas please. ALAN

Hello all... I have a few problems with the ultraheat system that I'm hoping to get some advice on so any help and indication of what this is gonna cost me would be much appreciated. 1) on electric, the heater works fine for an hour or two but then starts to blow cold and doesnt work again for a couple of hours or more... heard lots of talk about this being down to one of the two sensors at the back of the unit but wandered if anyone had some experience of this. 2)the gas ignitor is incredible temperamental and I can spend 10 minutes pressing the button before I can get it to ignite 3) I dropped a heavy object on the top panel and managed to break it in two Now I've done some research and really quite surprised at how expensive the parts for this unit are... I've managed to redecorate the entire caravan top to bottom for a fraction of what it looks like it's going to cost to fix this thing.. . So, could anyone give me some guidance as to how to proceed?... I've considered just buying an entire new unit and getting it fitted but struggling to find anywhere on line that sells them and can't even figure out how much it would cost. Just advice on who could do it and the kind of repair or replacement coats I'd be looking at would be much appreciated

Can’t post pictures therefore I’ll do my best to describe the issue. I stuck the heating on in the van out in the driveway (running off mains power plugged into garage). When I went out to check it a few hours later I accidentally pressed something (yes I may have been fiddling) on the control panel which then resulted in the heating running for a short time before cutting out. In the top right of the (EC600 ?) control panel there’s a lightning flash symbol with a padlock showing, which I think is the 240V Load Limit Active symbol. So, bearing in mind I’m useless with electrics, I think it may have been the setting limiting the amps which I’ve pressed. If so, what setting should it be at?

We recieved our new 2013 Elddis Avante 636 (badged Magnum 636GT by pearman briggs)in March, brilliant van except for the heating. Noisy on electric on any setting but try it on gas. We do a lot of rallying and CLs so running on gas is important to us. This is how it works on gas Turn on - fan runs full tilt for about 30 secs - gas fires up accompanied by a loud rumble - van reaches temperature - gas turns off but fan carries on for 3 mins at full tilt followed by a deafening silence when it turns off. Everybody falls asleep, van cools down, and whole sequence starts again. As you can imagine this results in sleep for the whole family being disturbed right through the night. Also it will run down a 110 Ah battery down in a matter of hours, as the battery drops to around 10V the gas heating wiil stop but the fan will continue. On a cold rally I had to change batteries before I went to bed and run a genny to recharge them the next day. It is that bad that we are considering changing van again before the winter. I feel that 2 simple fixes would really help 1. Put the heater under the floor to cut down noise not under the bed! 2. Have a maintenance level where once the van has reached temperature the fan and burner are reduced to keep a constant heat with little noise - I believe this is how the Truma system works. Personally, I wish we had shelled out the extra for the Crusader Tempest with the Alde heating. Is anyone else getting similar problems?

I am trying to work out if I am being unreasonable, expecting too much or just not understanding caravan heating. We got our new Swift Challenger Sport 586 last year and we have now used it a few times when we have needed to use the heating. In most cases I have tried the heating in 4amp and 8amp electric modes assuming that this would be capable of heating the caravan to a comfortable temperature. To my surprise I found that the electric modes were completely useless leaving the bathroom and back of the caravan cold. Having hecked the vents i found that there was very little air flow coming from the vents in the bathroom and rear of the caravan My initial reaction was that there was something wrong with the pipes, so I went about checking everything was clear and connected. Sure enough it was and I connected and I couldn't find anything wrong. Having given up trying to find the fault I spoke to Truma who have advised me that I should be running the Truma 4E combi in mixed mode when I want heating. The reason for this is hat electric modes will not get the heater up to the temperature required to trigger the higher fan speed. The higher fan speed is required to push the warm air to the back of the caravan. I have now put this to the test and found that they are indeed correct, after 5 minutes on mixed mode the fan went in to high speed mode. For the first time in the history of having this caravan I felt warm air in the bathroom and rear of the caravan. The question I have is do people normally run heating constantly on mixed mode? I also have concerns about the noise and safety of mixed mode heating thought the night. Has anybody got experience of this? Finally how much gas will it use running constantly in mixed mode? Call me Scrooge but I wanted to use just electric heating as the cost is included in the pitch fees.

Hi everyone, We have a 2016 Sterling elite 650 with an alde 3020 operating panel. When we go to turn it on, it powers on but then shuts off straight away. We have checked the fuses and reset the system, but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the issue and how to fix it? Thanks!

Hello newbie here so hello all. My wife and I have recently bought a 2010 Willerby Herald Gold static caravan but the heating doesn't appear to do anything. My understanding is that it has blown air heating though since there's a switch for each room I'm not sure how this would work. Does anybody else here have the same caravan and if so what should happen when I turn the switch on (I've already confirmed that the switches are live) Regards Mark

Hi I’ve recently bought a Willerby Westmorland, 2001, 6 berth and the gas fire was fine when we first used it, but this has changed. The fire now hardly gives any heat out, even on the top setting. We asked the site owner to get out the gas fitter, who changed the gas bottle regulator. This didn’t alter anything, so we mentioned it again. We were told that the fire is not designed to go very high and is doing what it is supposed to, but we can leave it on all day and are still not warm by evening. Are there any other owners that have experienced the same thing or know whether the fires have a regulator that can be altered? I would be grateful for any advice anyone could pass on.

Hi am based in Nelson, New Zealand. On Friday I got delivery of my Bailey Senator Louisiana 2006 arrived in the weekend. It raining here I wanted to try the heater out truma ultraheat gas, electric. I like using the electric but for some reason just seems to be blowing cold air I had it on 2000w and set around 5 Any ideas? I am new to caravaning so is a learning experience going to be my home. Does anyone know if its viable to keep very low heating on run by a solar panel to keep the damp off while not using the caravan over winter. I have a great solid fuel stove while I'm in the caravan but I plan to go away for several months this winter and wondered if there was any heating that would stop everything in my caravan getting very damp. Thanks

Hi guys I have I think but don't know a fault! ive had swift before having a Conqueror 645 2011, and the heating was fine no problems, I think my question is this although my Aldie is switched off when I go in the caravan a swift challenger 645 2013, on cold days parked in my drive its lovely and warm when entering ? how if the heating is turned off? does it have a frost thermostat? that's the question

Anyone know where the heating drain plug is on an Alde Affinity, have looked everywhere.

A member of our group on holiday with us has no mains heating, all fuses checked and ok. The green light on the control switch is on but no heat. Any ideas anyone, TIA

The electric side of our Carver heater has packed in and apparently it's so elderly that parts can't be sourced any more. The gas still works but we'd like to get a portable electric heater so we don't have to rely on gas since we're usually on an electric pitch. What does everyone recommend as the best type of portable heater? Also, is there any sort you can get that is safe to leave on all night?

I have just purchased a new 460/2. I went away for the first time this weekend. I love the van - apart from one thing (so far). The shower does not run at a consistent temperature. The water fluctuates from cold to very hot (too hot to stand in). I cannot believe that this is how the shower should perform. Does anyone have any experience/solutions to this problem - other than using the site facilities!

Hi I have a problem with my heating panel it's still blank after holding the start button for 3 sec. The van has been back to the dealer to have an alarm fitted. I've got 240v supply water heater switch lights up and water pump works the leisure batt is new thanks for any help

Hi can anybody help I bought a abbey spectrum 520 year 1999 model caravan I am having problems with the heating I had it blowing hot air but it nocks of and on the control panel the light flashes green any body now what the problem is or does anybody have a manual on the heating system also it does not show that its charging the battery ????? I bought a Lunar Clubman ES in April 2012 with Alde heating. On our first trip out the pump was a little noisy due to air in the system. I dropped the front end of the van and bled air from the radiator in the bathroom - problem solved. Over the 12 weeks or so we toured during that year we used the heating on 2Kw and 1Kw electric and all was fine. There was a little audible pump noise but nothing remarkable. However at Christmas and, initially with the door open to the awning when cooking, we found that the system was kettling on 2Kw but seemed fine on 1Kw. I mentioned the problem to the dealer at the April annual service but obviously did not emphasise it. (I hadn't been well ). The problem also manifested itself within 20 minutes when run on gas. We were away in April/May and the problem was still there. I spoke to the dealer and arranged to take the van in 30th August as we had trips planned. The dealer (quite rightly) assumed that there was a problem with the concentration of antifreeze in the heating circuit being too low. They drained the system and flushed four or five times, also replaced the pump. Problem still there but now apparent on 1Kw as we;; they reported. They asked if they could wait until Alde UK returned from an annual closure in order to consult and I collected the van. I also e-mailed to suggest that maybe involving an Alde engineer would be worthwhile. The dealer came back to me when Alde were back and said that the draining and refilling on this model was not quite straightforward. I had the option of taking it back to the dealer or travelling 160 mile to Alde UK. I chose to take it to Alde. This involved an overnight stay at a lovely CL about 6 miles from Alde. At Alde when I arrived at 8. 45am I was greeted warmly. They too suspected that it was a problem with concentration of antifreeze which they said should be around 50%. They checked and it was 11. 3%. There service manager explained the problem in refilling the particular system on my van and their work round. After having the system refilled with a 5 year life mix (and receiving a hat and pen) The problem seemed to be resolved. I was told to run the system for 10/20 hours and lift the pump several times and shake to remove micro bubbles and all would be well. Having since done that and having the 'van door open to stop the heating achieving 30 degrees and running continually I went into the van. The pump is in the wardrobe in the end washroom and the washroom door was open. With a slight breeze blowing outside the van and the door open I had to open the wardrobe door to check that the pump was still running! On a revisit with the caravan door closed and sitting on the front bunks with OH I could just discern the slightest hum from the pump with the washroom door open. This is from a guy who, sitting on site in June, wondered what the noise was he could hear. It was 3 young rabbits some 50 feet away tearing grass as they ate. Pleased? You bet. The trip cost me £85 in fuel including a few trips out whilst on site, £9 for my nights stay and £15 for a meal and a beer out. The welcome and hospitality of the friendly folk at Alde UK almost made the 320 mile round trip worthwhile on its own. I am more than happy with my dealer (Leisure Sales at Brereton near Holmes Chapel) and also Lunar who paid for the work and via Leisure Sales have provided a voucher for a free annual service next year. As I am off on holiday next Thursday for a month I wanted the problem resolved ASAP and hence, although I feel sure that with info from Alde the dealer would have sorted it, I was happy to make the journey and pleased with the dealers suggestion. Well done to Alde, Leisure Sales and Lunar.

Hi Everyone We picked up our new van last week and yesterday we tried out the heating whilst putting things away in it. The actual air that blows out of the (somewhat limited) vents is hot but the draft that blows out from under both front settees and the chest of drawers is terrible. I am really worried now about using it in cold weather as we plan to caravan year round. Has anyone else had this problem?

Can anyone help??? Just bought a coachman laser 520/4 2013 model and brought it to a campsite for its first use, and I must say am absolutely unhappy about the heating system. Been on site for 4 hours now and the van is still freezing can anyone advise of what I need to do to get the heating to work correctly
