  1. Spoke to Highbridge Caravans and Wells Tyres. Both said 4 ply are okay as long as the load rating is correct which it is. Apparently most new car tyres are 8 ply by default anyway.
  2. Manual says 175/65 R14 82. 32psi. No mention of number of plys or speed rating.
  3. So apart from having the correct load rating for the weight of the van is there anything special about caravan tyres??
  4. Thank you so much. Weirdly he wasn't selling me tyres - said I could get them fro Kwikfit or the like. H is the speed rating - 130mph?
  5. Our Elddis Avante 636 2005 twin axle MTPLM 1705 kg came with 4 new 4 ply tyres rated 86H. Our service engineer seems to think these need to be changed to 8 ply tyres - is that the case?
  6. Yep it is a great van and it looked great - amazing how easy it is to miss things.
  7. We have just purchased a 15 year old Elddis Avante 636 as a private purchase thinking we had a good deal and expecting some damp issues (yes we signed a sold as seen). The interior and exterior looked great to us being new to caravanning. However on spending the day cleaning and loading we have found some worrying rot at the front!! Seems the water is coming in from the seals either side of the two front windows shown. This has moved on to rot the main window sill which is obscured by plastic inside. A give away I suppose was the bubbling of the fibre glass in the picture shown whi
