  1. We bought out first van 3 years ago, it was a 4 berth with a rear dinette that went up into bunks. We bought that thinking it would be great for taking the grandkids away. After touring Scotland for 18 nights, and having to make up the bed every night, we Came home and sold it and bought our current Bailey with a fixed french bed, far better and suits our needs better. After using this one for 2 years we are now in the market for a change and will be looking for another fixed bed model next year, but this time an island bed with a centre washroom. It’s took 2 vans, 3 years and loads of res
  2. We joined both clubs when we bought our first van 3 years ago, but found we never used CCC for anything. The CMC on the other hand has been great as we regularly use their CL’s, as our children are grown up now we like the peace and quiet you get on a CL. We did get a quote for the CMC breakdown service, but found by going direct we got the same level of cover for 2/3 of the price.
  3. We were thinking of taking the plunge next year and getting rid of our 2008 Pageant Burgundy for a new Phoenix 640. But when I read some of these horror stories about poor quality and even worse dealer service, I wonder if we might be better going for one a year or so old that has had its niggles already sorted.
  4. The mixer tap in our vanity sink was leaking from the joins where the spout swivels, and after stripping, cleaning the seals and fitting a new ceramic cartridge, it still leaked. I ended up buying a replacement short spout tap without the swivel action from B&Q, which looks exactly like the original tap design. It was a fraction of the cost of the “caravan specific” model as well. No more leaky tap. 👍🏻
  5. We have a “rhino guard” universal one from a well know internet auction site, paid less than £40 for it. Does exactly what it should do, looks good, keeps the van front clean while travelling, has a soft touch inside layer. It’s also fully adjustable so we can take it with us if we change vans. Not sure I could justify the cost of a caravan specific one after getting such a good cover for very little cash.
  6. We have a 1998 Lunar Appolo and we have 2 of these switches, one on each side of the front seat corner. One is for the electric water heater and the other is for a night light that is low down near the toilet door. Both are from the 12v supply. Hope that helps.
  7. The Sky HD boxes all worked independently of each other with separate satellite feeds and their own planner. With Q, the main Q box is designed to feed content and signal to the mini boxes via the home WiFi and the mesh created by the Q system. If you have no internet connection and mesh the mini will not work. 3G/4G mobile internet connections are no good for Q either. Hope that helps.
