We stayed there last weekend. It is an adult only site. The pitches are crammed in. You either need a motor mover or be superb at reversing your caravan. The road way in between pitches is about the width of the caravan but the depth of the pitches mean you have very little room to swing the van in. I reversed in first time (amazed myself and swmbo!) but as we were now jackknifed we had to unhitched and push the van back the last couple of foot. There was no other way of getting it in and the neighbours were impressed we got it in as far as we did!
The facilities are very clean however the are approx 15 showers on the site for 80 pitches. Make sure you get up early or have a late shower.
We decided to us the site bus service into town which you have to book the day before. The departure time written on the tickets stated 10:30. We arrived and waited until 10:45 but no bus. Went to reception and they said the bus was 10:00! The receptionist was busy on the phone and gave us a refund but no apology.
The site is clean and reasonably well kept but there were brambles and nettles hanging down the hedges ( it's a terraced site). In fairness to the site they started to trim the hedges whilst we were there but they didn't/couldn't do behind the vans and the trimmings were not collected.
The bar was packed but it did not feel friendly and we were told to move from the corner of the bar and go and sit down somewhere. We also found that the prices for the same drinks differed on who served you. When questioned we were met with indifference. Other people we spoke to also said this. If you do go there do not get served by the old bloke ( apparently the owner) as he's the one who charges extra.
The wardens were really friendly and helpful. They made a big thing of being in the top 100 Practical Caravaning guide last year but from what we could see and talking to our neighbours nobody could work out why. We would not rush to go there again.
