  1. We have had a number of caravans over the years. Early on there was no choice, fire only, then fire with blown air, then blown air & now Alde wet system. We do tend to winter caravan, but I agree the Alde dose take a while to warm up, so we have a ceramic fan heater to assist in the initial heat up. Don't mind either, the two systems have positives & negatives?
  2. When our Elegance went back to swift, it was with them for 12 weeks, when we got it back the off side mood lighting did not work, the magnetic valance to the microwave was on the floor, with a dent where it landed. Swift do try to soften their bad workmanship, by putting you up in a hotel for a night and paying you the cost of fuel to get to them, as they want you in person to pick the caravan up from the factory.
  3. On PC Log onto CMC website. Book a CL. Bottom LHS. Click on the icon, what you want. EUH, WC's & Showers, Adults only. (There are many) Search. For my criteria it comes up with 130 for the UK. From a phone. Show CL. Whats important to you. Click the icons. Location. Search.
  4. Last night I did have a look for CL's on Anglesey and only 2 came up with the criteria I want. Adults only, fully serviced, toilet, shower. Sam D No problems about jet noise, I am an ex aircraft engineer. So I think it ticks my box. The 2nd one I found is 'Brambles', it's by Anglesey Transport Museum. Looks OK, cheaper than Pen y Llyn. On CMC there are 130, Adults only, fully serviced, with toilet and shower. We have grown up children and have young grandchildren, so we are not anti child. The higher price is an example of what you get? These type of sites work for us!
  5. I have had THESE in the past. But I now use THESE 'Platinum'. I mount them from the bottom of the car mirror as I find they has less vibration?
  6. Anglesey Not a cheap holiday area. CMC CL £32/night, fully serviced for September. As you said business logic, the islanders have their economy at heart?
  7. For those that have an extinguisher. Have you checked the best before date, they all have them!
  8. France is NOT the UK. They have their own culture, ways they do things and the way things are done. If you don't like it don't go. Have a Staycation, where you can get bacon, baked beans, and have his & hers toilets/washrooms. We go because of all the right reasons. Its their country & not ours, a culture thing?
  9. OP is this any help? https://en.alde.se/wp-content/uploads//2020/04/standbyskarm-en_rityta-1_rityta-1.png
  10. One was Camping Les Pêcheurs in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, we were there the week before it happened. I now understand why the campsite had height markers (black and white vertical ruled markers) around the campsite.
  11. Glad you got it all sorted On our caravan the RF in the battery box feeds a second TV point which is where the chest of draws would be. (We have not got a chest of draws) We have a second TV point on the near side cupboard, where there is a TV Bracket, that's how we watch TV. The feeds for this is as I said 'F' in battery box & RF from booster terminated at this point. As we have no chest the TV point is redundant apart from the USB points and the 240vac and 12vdc, which are used for various other electrical appliances or chargers.
  12. December 2020, I was in a very dark place. My Wife, Son & Father-in-Law, all had covid at the same time, myself nothing. I work for the NHS, a co worker and myself, who were both processing equipment, for de-contamination of Covid. (If you are thinking did I somehow give Covid to my family the answer to that is a NO. The outbreak came from the Father-in-Laws carers.) (The wife, Son, Father-in-Law(96) are all fully vaccinated, have been for many months.) January, February, I had my 1st and 2nd vaccines. I am now on a study called SIREN, as a key worker like myself got enough immunity, not to get infected. I am tested twice a month, also blood tests, checking my anti bodies. As I have posted on here, we made the decision March 2020, that 2021 we would not go abroad for a holiday. I have ventured into England only once, getting the caravan serviced. My fellow co worker, has his own place in Spain and has just returned to work, after having 3 weeks at his place, returning home as the isolation was lifted, but he paid a hefty price, for all the tests, paperwork. Going off topic a bit. As I live in a Welsh tourist area, the amount of visitors not wearing face coverings in shops, is alarming. In Wales it is still mandatory to wear face coverings, when in shops.
  13. Hi & welcome The battery Box houses the input for a bollard TV RF fitting (push on standard) the 'F' connector is the input from a stand alone satellite dish. The TV station 12v, F, RF are as follows. F connector fed from F connector in the battery box. RF fed from white booster roof mounted areal. The lead that is spare should be the RF from the Battery box. As you caravan is not new someone may have messed up the connections. If I am wrong someone will be along to set you on the correct lead arrangement?

    Water butts

When we were in France, some 3 years ago. We were in a hyper market (E Leclerc) I came across A water butt, similar in looks to, the one given with our Elegance. It was green in colour, 2 wheels and a retractable handle, 50ltr. As our trolley was full of the clinking stuff (bottles), I said to the other half, we would pick one up on our next visit. Next visit all sold out, You win some, but I lost this one and have not had the chance to go back to see if they are still selling them?
  15. I purchased an Astra, a long time ago with a CC. The card was a General Motors CC, the deposit was the trade in car & the balance was on the card. It worked at the time?
  16. My workmate came back on it last week, to avoid isolating as he was planned to drive through France for the Tunnel. He has his own place up in the mountains, about an hr's drive from Alicante. He said the ferry was nice as it's so new, but he found that where his allocated sleeping chair was, the air con was so cold, he and others slept on the couches in the bar.
  17. Since Covid Started, we tend to use fully serviced adults only C/L's or adults only commercial sites. (just come back from an adults only commercial, this weekend). You tend to get the older type visitor's, that do say Hi and pass the time of day. Even the young couple in a Lunar Stellar on the pitch next to us said Hi, even with their phones permanently attached to a hand?
  18. You simply are not doing it correctly. Only ever happened to me once! Never again. Today returned to storage from a long W/E near Welshpool. No problem s at all? When uncoupling, just don't do anything with the fitting, after detachment. If you have a placement on the A frame cover to put the 13 pin socket, just place it there and don't turn it.
  19. To be honest, I don't think so. This covid is so prevalent in it's mutation, we will have another Greek letter to contend with, by then! Personally I think this virus will be with us forever unfortunately. We will have to live and adapt with it, just as we do with its cousin the Flu, look at the statistics on how many lives the Flu takes per year? We like you, tend to go to France in September, but not last or this year, lets see what next year brings.
  20. I was just posting an example? The Wife and I made the decision last year, not to go to France this year, because of the pandemic with the swift swings in policy making. I don't need to go, so why put myself into this situation. Government are advising you not to go, so unless you must go, because of a valid reason, I don't see the need. My colleague needed to go, as he has his own place up in the mountains in Spain and as he had not been out there for a year, he needed to drive, to take stuff out there, meaning he has to go through France, as the tunnel was booked and paid for, for a trip, back last year. His choice, now he will have to isolate on his return. Unfortunately not being paid.
  21. I clean the one on our caravan the same time as I give the roof it's annual wash!

    On loan

A few years ago, we did the same for our daughter, son in law and grand child. So that they could see if they enjoyed the caravan life. Only damage was to the toilet cassette, but easily fixed? They now have their own carravan?
  23. My work colleague drove to Spain via the tunnel a week last Friday. Before he went he had to book a Lateral flow test 24hrs before departure. He also had to book via the NHS a PCR test which will be waiting for him on his return, isolate for 48hrs while waiting the test results. This was before Boris changed the goal posts, for France from amber to amber+, meaning he will have to self isolate for 10 days, on his return. I may be wrong, but I suppose someone on here will put my reply in order if it is wrong.
  24. Totally agree. I work for the NHS.
