  1. Thankyou Ancell , aye it was a sore one. Police reckon there was nearly 500 people following the Hearse bringing Shawlands to a standstill as we walked to the church.... Talking to my neighbour today who have recently purchased a VW Camper and love to wild camp and ken a got me thinking. 🤔 Think what we are witnessing is just the tip of the Iceberg . Until this Covid Pandemic is done and dusted the Wild Camping and fully booked sites scenario could be the norm for the time being. Unfortunately due to the Staycation and Newbie Brigade this is also putting pressure on our relaxed past time. The days of hooking up and turning up unannounced could be a thing of the past.....😑 Glad yer van is now sorted... Bought a couple of Vans at Duncans ... Good to deal with..... GAS....
  2. One day ! Yer havering BC.... We have had one day of sun in the last six weeks. Friday night the thunderstorm was biblical... Yer quite correct BC should give the East a go . A just wanted a quick getaway on Friday. Our family have been ridding an emotional roller coaster. We sadly lost our God Son to leukaemia last week after a 9 month fight. Wee Sam was only 14 so as you can imagine we are all broken hearted and after the funeral last Tuesday just wanted a quick getaway. Life is so unfair auld pal .... Booked to getaway next month .... West Coast !! GAS ....
  3. I have a E350 Coupe and like PMW have a detachable swan neck type tow bar with folding socket. It's an older model but surprised you have issues getting a tow bar for your E Class... GAS .... Exact same one on my E Class...
  4. Well I had ma first pint of Guinness on Friday night since the lock down back in March. Was a bit hesitant at the pub procedures but all measures had been taking from social distancing and waiter type service. Even a toilet procedure was put in place one in one out on a type of one way system. So was happy and relaxed. What I did notice however the Beer Garden was mobbed and the social distancing was being compromised at times. Enjoyed my pint but sadly will stay clear as I felt it just still a bit too dodgy... Did enjoy ma Guinness though.... GAS ...
  5. "Boys a Boys" what a happy bunch we all are .......... Don't like poles ,don't like flags, don't like LED lights, don't like dugs , don't like fitbaw don't like this ,don't like that .... etc... etc... GAS .....

  8. "The Mrs" gave me a 4 day Solo Pass this weekend . Phoned for a pitch at Machrihanish ...Fully Booked ! Phoned for a pitch at Invercoe ,Glen Coe Fully Booked ! Tried for a pitch at Killiegruer, Kintyre. Closed this season due to Covid. Now trawling the internet for a not so big caravan site round about Lochaber .... Any recommendations most welcomed .. PLEASE .... GAS ....
  9. I would have thought ALL Workers who Battled through the Lockdown would be entitled to a financial "Bung" of some sorts ... Whilst many of us lay in wait on Furlough ( being Paid) these lassies and lads kept the country going with many not having the proper protection required putting their lives at risk driving a delivery lorry for example as the information was simply not available and some didn't know better due to miss communications...... GAS ....
  10. Hi Lui ... and Welcome ...
  11. This auld "chestnut".... Many answers to this one but if it was me parked up for the night I would simply give the drink a miss easy answer but if you fancy a refreshment parked in a Lay By I would find out first if its legal and safe. You could be asked to be moved by a patrolling Police car. If it is legal and safe , I would close the blinds especially round the cab area ,turn the drivers seat round if you can, drop the steadies , take your keys out of the ignition at least if you had a very keen Police Call you have taken every precaution displaying that you are not ready to move if under the influence... Have heard so many different stories over the years with this question and also have read about it ending in tears. As stated I would leave the bevie out on a public lay by and play safe... GAS ...
  12. Hello .... Now after doing some homework it seems to me you do have a case in getting this removed. I am an operational firefighter in Scotland so Rules and Regs may be slightly different so I checked West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Instructions/ Guidance and they are stating up to 6 meters between occupied static caravans with a distance of 3 meters between Awnings and would imagine Decking etc... Disabled ramps and stairs should have clearance of 4.5 meters between units. Now I would like to think if this Gazebo / Hot tub is with in the safety margin it should be moved but it also states a covered storage should be made of non combustable material including a non combustable roof with sufficient space around the obstacle not to prejudice a means of Escape in the event of a fire. Going by the picture it also blocks and hinders your means of escape if you had a catastrophic fire situation and your only means of escape was through your bedroom window as part of your Fire Action Plan. This is clearly being compromised going by the picture. Basically it's a Fire Hazard and blocking your means of escape and this is the route you should take. I would also speak to your local authority Fire and Rescue Service who have Fire Prevention / Precaution Officers on hand to give out free advice and information.Education being a big part of fire prevention. You could even suggest that you are so concerned for your Safety that maybe they should pay a visit to the actual site. Hope this helps. GAS ....
  13. Watching the morning telly in ma scratcher as I listen to the rain battering off the bedroom window ☹.... That BBC telly mob were stating that Motor Home and Caravan sales have went through the roof due to the " Staycation " theory. Maybe to the more seasoned caravaner but has anyone one noticed a severe rise on camp site business whilst away or is it more or less just the norm ? I'm looking forward to getting away for the first time but if Sites are mobbed and full of noise maybe hold off another month....🤔 GAS......
  14. Hi Ice , Is it a detachable Towbar you are fitting ? I have the E350 Coupe AMG Bluetech and I'm sure I only required a slight cut . Absolutely unnoticeable as the cut is tucked away . The garage fitting it did however scratch my bumper being colour coded ...I was not a happy bunny.... GAS ...
  15. Barcelona now back into Lockdown .... GAS ...
