  1. Picked up our Barracuda on Friday from Raymond James. Are we pleased .............absolutely. Did we have any faults..................No none. Was the van delivered on schedule............yes exactly when we were told when we ordered it. Is there a lack of storage space............Yes its very limited. Does the shelf on the kitchen work space annoy us..........No we actually like it and found it useful. What did we enjoy.......... Lovely quality features internally, the self levelling system is fantastic. The heating system is stunning with hot water that gets very hot very quickly. I read a lot of people who knock British engineering, well those guys will be disappointed with my review thus far. On Friday night we stayed at a local site and another couple had taken delivery of their van the day before us. They had a few issues, door alignment on some cabinets and handle on the front had sprung. Raymond James fixed it all for the, were they disappointed ...........No they loved theirs just as we loved ours. Are the tyres Chinese? I suspect they are but to be fair they gave us no issues and we won't be towing it very far. So in summary, the van was delivered on time, on spec and on price now that's the definition of quality. Raymond James, were they the right dealer, absolutely yes, we'll go back in 3 years to renew this van
  2. Picking up our Barracuda a week on Friday (17th May 2019). That's probably a week or two earlier than I had expected. So far so good then. I will write up a review of the first impressions when we pick her up and stay the first weekend.
  3. Annoying as you say. The 2019 spec is an ALKO chassis. We have a chuff chart set up now so in 12 to 14 weeks I guess we'll be back into the caravaning scene, we can't wait. In the meantime we are building up the inventory again, thankfully saved a few things such as our Cadac, Isabella chairs and windbreak and few odds and sods.
  4. Many thanks. I'll take a good look. Its the kind of thing that would annoy me.
  5. I have enjoyed reading the comments in relation to my post. Love the fact that at one point I was described as a Snowflake. Can't wait to share that with my mates. My tow car is a BMW X5. However, I also own a 2.0 ltr Diesel VW Golf which is the best car that I have ever bought. I can't part with it. Perhaps on reflection my mistake was to post the bulldog cartoon, albeit I do love it and shared it with my colleagues in Brussels, who all think we Brits are mad at the best of times. I do however, realise that Brexit frightens some folks to death, so I should be more sensitive to their predicament. Naturally, I will share my findings after taking delivery of my Buccaneer, that review will be honest and to the point. But trust me, if I find that things aren't built to my exacting standards then the manufacturer will be hearing from me in my best former Senior Non Commissioned Officer fashion Well done folks two pages of healthy debate to read through on my first post. Shall have to think about my next post.
  6. Notwithstanding the defects of the British Bulldog as a consequence of breeders taking things too far, let's remember why this breed is held so closely to our National identity. Over the course of 350 years, until bull-baiting was banned in 1835, bulldogs were bred for aggression, and an 80-pound dog could easily bring down a bull weighing close to a ton by corkscrewing its own body around its neck, tossing the bull over its own center of gravity. I'll stick with the Bulldog spirit. Kids soon grow up unfortunately! I like the fact that people can disagree and offer another view point. I spent 22 years of my life ensuring that was the case. No shine taken off my purchase and thanks for your comment Many thanks, 7 years since I joined tis forum! Blimey, I did well to remember my password
  7. Tell me what isn't made like this? However, I won't let the uncertainty of Brexit stop my buying and trying to at least save the jobs of those who put these things together. Hope all goes well. Look forward to the review Many thanks. I've owned several vans over the years and have always wanted a Buccaneer. Let's hope all is well. I can see a lot of people not liking the layout, not particularly family friendly but there's only the two of us.
  8. To hell with Brexit: We bought British and look forward to picking it up in 3 moths time
