  1. thanks folks, Mechs you dont have a battery now ?? have you had a rewire? is there a way of running things without the battery and just EHU?
  2. Hi we are possibly siting the van for the rest of the year soon. just wondered what other people do with regards the tyres? Do I use axle stands to take the load off the tyres/suspension? Also the battery charger? Can this be left on 24/7 or do we just need to keep an eye on the charge state? Thanks for reading!
  3. THANK YOU! There are normal peeps out there!
  4. The poster loves old caravans surf01, you appear to be another one with difficulty grasping the point im making. still. .... the sensible ones have made themselves known. For what it's worth my van is probably the oldest on site here. I have no insecurities, it appears MANY on here however do! Get over yourselves.
  5. Just to clarify I wasn't putting down old caravans the point I was making is people go to a huge effort to have their fancy cars in showroom condition yet are happy to tow moss covered algae riddled caravans, not that hard to understand is it? No snobbery no putting people down and fwiw I am a lover of all thinks retro! Caravans included.
  6. Never been on a haven site and never been to mablethorpe? (Why?), probably north of scotland wigelywoo not decided yet. Are you throwing stones like a naughty child???
  7. I don't have to explain anything thanks.
  8. The post is not about my rigs better than yours! my rig I've already mentioned. If you look thru the thread you will find out! Not once have I put anyone down but I seem to have got a lot of people's backs up. All you people chill out and don't be so tetchy, be like the few on here that read this post for what it was meant to be and UNDERSTOOD it properly instead of spreading yr misery and getting offended because you have an older caravan. i shall say no more as too many have missed the point completely and doubt will ever get it. Those that contributed constructively - many thanks. Those that were offended, YOU understood it wrong. Have a lovely day folks!
  9. To the intellectuals that grasped the point I was making in the post give yourselves a pat on the back, those that have got the hump go read it again this time with the giant chip on your shoulders removed and you might just get it, and if you still have the hump then you totally have misunderstood.
  10. It's not bothering anyone else! seems there are a lot of rather tense folks on here who take things the wrong way I for am not a snob or think im better than ANYONE, simply amused by the scenario I have mentioned. I have a 2005 caravan and pull it with a 1997 vehicle aren't I posh!! :-)
  11. Dcorran. ..That's my point answered in part, obviously an element of these combos are people trying it out before taking the plunge, but you have at least spruced things up a bit beforehand I hope you're enjoying it.

  13. Scaramanga you're spot on! The cars will be totally gleaming not a speck on them, yet the vans look like they've not been washed in 6 years! Obviously image conscious and vain when it comes to the motor yet happy to pull around a pile of moss on wheels!!
  14. I often wonder what the situation is when you see the above combo, I've just witnessed a £30k+ 5 series BMW leave the site towing an old van worth no more than 500 quid with matching proper number plates and not makeshift ones in the window. Isn't it funny how often you see this kind of thing, Or is it just me?.........
