  1. We stayed at the Cotswold Carp Farm in Bourton on the Water, it is not a CC site it is privately owned. I thought whilst we were there that it would be a good site for motor homes. It was a 10 minute walk into Bourton down a nice quiet track. The bus stops were also only a 10 minute walk away, as was the large co-op. We didn't use our car much at all whilst we were there.
  2. I stayed here http://www. annstead. co. uk in the adults only walled garden. Across the road from the beach and walking distance to Seahouses. I really enjoyed my stay there, Northumberland is lovely.
  3. They are coming to the end of the construction of the new bypass. I have to go through switch island, M57/58 junction on my way to work and I would definitely avoid it like the plague for the next month. From May when the roadworks are finished it will be great for those visiting Southport.
  4. We stayed on The Cotswold Carp Farm in Bourton on the Water last year. I wrote a review on it in the reviews section. Basic site, adult only. Easy walk into Bourton and good walks from the site.

  9. Thanks for answer. I'm having trouble finding a second hand awning in the size I need. I will probably buy new but I was looking for the cheapest option. I was thinking if an awning is suitable to be used in all weathers what is the difference between using it for 7 months in 1 year in comparison to using it for say 2 months a year touring for 5 years?
  10. Why would an awning made from TenCate 4 season polyester not be suitable for a seasonal pitch? Surely if it is capable of being used all year round it could be used permanently from April to October? We have decided to spend the summer on a seasonal pitch and we are having no luck finding a second hand awning so I was looking at a Dorema Daytona for cost purposes. Unfortunately it is not advised for a seasonal pitch. Does anybody know why? Is it something to do with the poles?

    Lucky Escape

It all happened so quickly, and we knew they were safe, and we were unsure what was behind us that we just drove on to the next service station. With hindsight we should have pulled over as there could have been more damage. I think we were just a bit shocked and not thinking properly.

    Lucky Escape

Returning from our break in the Cotswolds yesterday, travelling on the M42 at 60mph. We were happily plodding along and another caravan was overtaking us when suddenly there was a massive bang and my husband was braking to avoid debris flying up at us. The caravan overtaking us had a blow out of its near side tyre. He was luckily able to control the caravan and pulled over in front of us into the hard shoulder. We sustained some deep scratches to the front of our car from the debris but luckily the caravan was unscathed. It could have been a lot worse, luckily the motorway was quiet. Just brings it home that you can be happily pottering along and through no fault of your own something awful can happen.
  13. Hi. We tow with an insignia estate 160ps manual. Our caravan is 1470kgs. It tows really well, doesn't struggle at all.
  14. It was a middle aged woman driving the car that stopped completely on the motorway as well! I hate to say this as a female myself.
  15. I think some people need further instruction on joining a motorway. We were travelling home on the M6 in the near side lane, luckily at least 100metres distance from the car in front. Another car was joining the motorway from the slip road- as he tried to join the motorway the car in front of us in the near side lane seemed to panic, as the guy on the slip road speeded up the car on the motorway did the same. The guy on the slip road then slowed down but then so did the car on the motorway. The middle lane of the motorway was empty at this time. Anyway the result was that the car on the near side lane of the motorway stopped completely! Now I know we should all be a braking distance apart but you wouldn't expect a car to stop completely on a motorway with no queues!
