  1. I may be mistaken but wasn't the original poster comparing a Kodiaq and a Volvo
  2. In thirty five years of caravanning I've had a couple of Vauxhalls, a few Fords, 3 VWs and 4 Volvos. All very capable towcars. Some slightly better than others. When I retired in 2018 I looked at a few for what will, probably be my last towcar. The ones I considered seriously and tested were: Jaguar F-pace, BMW X3, Mercedes GLC, Volvo XC60 and the Kodiaq. In terms of overall comfort, controls, ride, interior and paintwork colour choices and toys it was the XC60 for me. I thought the Kodiaq was the least impressive.
  3. 33 in a £700 Monza. A little over a month short of 69 now but forced to cancel all my trips this year. The Welsh government lockdown being the final nail in the coffin.
  4. I did say outdoors. I don't know about you, but I think 6 adults plus any children of the the permitted age would be a bit of a squeeze.
  5. Presumably if you come to Wales you should be able to have a gathering of up to 30 people outdoors
  6. I've got a 2018 XC60 with the drop down bar. It's always worked fine except for one occasion. We were just about to go off for a few days. I connected it up and nothing worked. It was at the storage place and another chap was at his 'van. I asked him if I could connect my electrics to his outfit and just as mine. No power. Two different outfits with the same outcome. I contacted the dealer and took it in the next morning. They tested everything and all worked fine. I went back to my 'van, hitched up and everything worked as it should. Nothing had been done to the car. Perhaps Vol
  7. I previously advertised mine on both Gumtree and Preloved. Can't recall which one I sold it on but it went within 4-5 days
  8. Was due to go down to Biarritz for 5 weeks from 1st Aug. Campsite and ferry to Santander all booked. I cancelled it in May and got full refunds from both. I don't fancy the thought of trying to social distance in Biarritz, St Jean de Luz, Bayonne, etc at the height of the season. I don't think the beaches will be any less crowded than usual. That's not my idea of relaxation
  9. When I changed to a larger caravan about 15 years ago, I decided to book a cc manoeuvring course . I had already been towing a 'van for 20 plus years. The course was very worthwhile and I learnt a few things to my advantage. In addition the discount on the cc insurance paid for the course within a year. As you will have already towed a bit by Sept my advice would be to consider enlisting on a manoeuvring course, rather than the full blown towing one. It deals with such things as reversing, etc. I tow with a Volvo XC60 auto which is great. I just put my foot down and
  10. Mine was due for a service at the start of May. The dealer was shut. I had a call from them last week to say they were hoping to reopen this week and offered me a new date in August. So hopefully the Welsh Government will give the go-ahead.
  11. My 2018 Volvo XC60 was due it's second yearly service in April. The dealer called me before to tell me that they weren't doing anything other than emergency repairs at that time. They called me in early May to say they were now able to resume servicing. They are in Abergavenny, about 20 odd miles away from where I live in Newport. As their workshop manager also lives in Newport he offered to collect my car from home in the morning and return it when he finished. I gladly took him up on the offer. Great customer service. The car was brought back, serviced, cleaned insid
  12. I should have been at Godrevy Park in Cornwall for a week already with just over a week more to go. Then to North Wales for a few days at the end of May and 4 weeks near Biarritz in August. All not happening now. If I were allowed out I'd jump off a cliff.
  13. I need to do the same. Mine's about 6 miles away. Fob to raise the barrier with a security guard in a kiosk to operate. There isn't usually anyone else about in the storage area where my 'van is and no need to see or speak to anybody. I will be sorting mine out this week.
