  1. Hi there. In our new magazine Ultimate Adventure Magazine, we review the Sprite Quattro. Being quite new to this game (it's very much a fan-run mag) we were looking for a bit of feedback on the review for you guys. You can see the mag at www. uamag. co. uk and all feedback is appreciated :-) Merry Christmas!! Andy.

  3. Thank you, Caravan Times!! That's very kind of you. :-) I think we'll be focusing more on features of an adventure nature, and leave the hardcore van and caravan kit reviewing to you guys :-) Cheers! Andy.
  4. Hi Bagpuss!! That's awful, mate. Yes, life is precious!! You have to make the most of every day. I lost a friend this summer to a stroke; he was only 51. :-( No damn age to die. Well, thankyou for your positive comments, and chin up mate!! :-) If you ever want to share your adventure experiences drop me an email :-) Andy.
  5. Err, yeah. iPad 2. That's what I meant :-) And as for lawyers driving diesel Range Rovers. .. well I know a few!! And diesel BMWs. With regards who's backing the mag, is a creation of the people from Anarchy Books - www. anarchy-books. com. As for me personally, I am Andy Remic - an SF/fantasy/thriller author. www. andyremic. com I spend a lot of my caravan time writing nasy violent novels, and use the 'van for a base for mountain climbing and mountain biking. Oh and I'm making a horror movie. Which is why I know Frazer. And believe me, he is a damn fine actor; all he needs is a nasty script ;-) I just thought it would be *FUN* to start up a new magazine caterinig focusing on stuff that wasn't boring. :-)
  6. LePhantom! What a great idea!! Dr Evil G46. ... I already have artists working on the comic artwork ;-) No, seriously Chris, here's a tissue. Blow out all that snot. Clear out your tubes. Feel better? Good man :-) I love that the cover looks like an 80s pop magazine. GOOD. That's the point. And what's wrong with psychedelic camper vans, anyway? Wish I had one. .... grumble grumble. Just put together a really great feature from a writer called Rowley, about his ten year gap from caravanning. See? It's not all rock chicks and portaloos. .....
  7. Haha. Groovy it is, and certainly no spoof. And how DID Parksy realise Frazer was going to dress up as Austin Powers?? Damn. The cat's out the bag! Groovy is, well, groovy. It's 70's kitsch. It's Ash from The Evil Dead. And yes, there will be some comedy. .. after all, wouldn't want people to think caravanners had no sense of humour now, would we?? ;-) A shame you seem so negative about it, ChrisG46. I was going to ask to do an in-depth feature on your site and film-making enterprises in the future. ...... And no, I did not get a letter from Future, but as Agent Smith says to Neo: "That is the sound of inevitibility" - and I'm damned if I'm going to line the diesel tank of some greasy lawyer's Range Rover. :-) So hell yeah, it's going to be a. ... groovy mag. Groovy. Baby.
  8. Hello there! Our magazine will no longer be called FutureCaravanning Magazine. ..... now it will be known as GroovyCaravanning Magazine! Our first issue will contain celebrity interviews with Frazer Hines (of Emmerdale and Dr Who fame) and Jordan Reyne, a New Zealand rock-chick musician who played Glastonbury this year and, er, stayed in a tent. In the mud. Should be an ace interview!! There will be features on Winter Caravanning, using your caravan/motorhome as a base for Hogmanay, the changes after ten years “out of the caravan loop”, a feature from a new family going to Portugal for 6 months, reviews, opinions, and of course, what will no-doubt become our famous ANTI-CLARKSON rant. Hope you’ll check it out. I'm currently looking for articles, reviews and reader letters. If you have anything of interest to say, please get in touch! www. groovycaravanning. com New email: fcmag@hotmail. co. uk The Editor.

  10. Hello there! First, thanks for all your words of support, advice and encouragement. My (our) aim is simply to bring a different slant to our magazine, to highlight (as Ellisfield above comments) on some of the more esoteric sides of caravanning not normally portrayed in the caravan media. I remember coming down from Blencathra and two downhill bike dudes slammed past. I found them at the bottom in their orange VW camper van, listening to Alice in Chains and smoking roll-ups, dude. Now there's a feature ;-) With regards issues of monthly/bi-monthly, and whether there will be a second issue or not etc. Well. I am not a corporate magazine, just a hobbyist who is a professional writer and knows lots more professional writers. The plan is bi-monthly to begin with to give us time for professional production, and if the mag is successful we’ll ramp it up to monthly production - as Chris's (earlier) point is quite valid about building a readership. Still. We'll see how it goes. I certainly committed to a year or publication. J Now. Rebranding. No longer FutureCaravanning Magazine. ..... now it will be known as GroovyCaravanning Magazine! www. groovycaravanning. com New email: fcmag@hotmail. co. uk Our first issue will contain celebrity interviews with Frazer Hines (of Emmerdale and Dr Who fame) and Jordan Reyne, a New Zealand rock-chick musician who played Glastonbury this year and, er, stayed in a tent. 11. Why's that ChrisG46?? Thanks for all your suggestions. Rebranding is now complete. And I;ve even got a couple of celebrity interviews to announce ;-) I suppose that's what come of being a professional writer with 12 published novels :-) Cheers!! Andy.
  12. No, in this case all they have is "Rabid DVD" and the name of the publihsing company is vastly different. So they have only 1 "product", about DVDs, which cannot posisbly be confused with caravans. Anyway, you should write a legal advice column in my magazine, lol. ;-) And genuinely, thanks for helping out.
  13. Ribs, after a bit of research into the legal side I see you are indeed correct. However, searching for an "alternative" name is proving tricky because everywhere there is something with a similar name. Okay. So, say I have "Rabid Caravanning" and there's another magazine called "Rabid DVDs" - but both "publishers" are different. This would be okay, yes? Because even though they both share the "Rabid" prefix, and are both publishers, they are putting out a different product/ in a different arena. Thanks for pointing this all out, by the way. :-) I'm assuming you are in, or attached to, the legal profession.
  14. I will contact Future and see what they have to say. Cheers A.
  15. Thanks for all your comments and views. A lot of interesting stuff!! :-) With regards Future Publishing, I am aware of them (of course!) however they do not own the word "Future" and I am referring to the "future of caravanning" and in no way attempting to impinge on their turf. If you type "future" into Google, you'll also see Future Electronics, Forum for the Future, Future Foundation, Future of Web Apps, Future Shorts. .... do you really think Future PLC can close everything down?? As you can see on our sire, the word FUTURE is created using a space-age font, again to underline the essence of us moving caravanning forwards. .. into the future. :-) With regards a permanently updating site, as opposed to a bi-monthly, as has been pointed out - the focus here is on features in a digital "magazine". Something you can put on your MAC or iPad r laptop and read on the train, or in your motorhome. You can't do that with a constantly updating site - by its very nature you need a web connection for the latest news. FCM is a digital magazine, not a news site. :-)
