  1. We would use it to Spain/Portugal for the winter months, sorry should have made it clear in my original post.
  2. Thanks for that, indoor storage is probably a must given the the extremes of weather in France.
  3. Been away from caravanning for the past 18 months, considering a return but this time buying used and storing it in mid or south west France with a view to using it for a few months at a time over the winter. Would be grateful for some guidance from anyone who has experience of doing this. Thanks in advance Martin
  4. Had the same issue with my Dealer special Conquest SB bought a pole version of the Kampa Rally Pro 330, it's a perfect fit and I can use the near side window.
  5. Took me an hour to get onto the system was desperate to get a pitch at Cherry Hinton for the Cambridge Folk Festival weekend, stayed there last year and had a brilliant time, unfortunately by the time I got on all the pitches were taken. Will keep checking for a cancellation
  6. Good choice, we've had a Lunar Conquest SB (Highbridge dealer special) since March 15 coped very well with a 12 week european adventure earlier this year, recently had a few problems I. e. Omnivent needs replacing, and new part needed for toilet all sorted under warranty.
  7. Just spent 3 months travelling around France, Spain and Portugal and my Kampa Rally Pro 330 (steel poles) performed brilliantly and we had some very heavy storms and strong winds, you'll still have to peg out the air awning, if your present awning is in good nick I would stick with it.
  8. I understand exactly where your coming from, were just back from 3m in Europe, and noted that virtually all the european caravans are a lot smaller than the British ones, and they hardly ever use awnings, most of them have wind out canopies. But I would miss my fixed bed.
  9. Were now in Saint-Emilion site is about 60% full, reception tell me they are fully booked for the coming weekend.
  10. The blind in my door window refuses to retract, not a major problem, away in the van at the moment, anyone know how to fix it ? All others working fine.
  11. I'm near Auch in South West France, no problems here. Filled up today not seen any queues.
  12. Dave, happy to assist, the roof lining in mine is a light colour so have no issues feeling cramped in, the D5 engine in the 2016 model is now 220bhp so bags of power yes it's only a 6 speed auto but it does a good job. you also have the option of the Polestar power upgrade which is Volvo approved.
  13. Hi Dave I'm currently towing around France, Spain, And Portugal using a 2016 Volvo XC60 SE LUX NAV D5 Auto my van is 1350 KG, The XC60 has been brilliant I've towed on all types of roads and terrains and got onto and off some pretty wet pitches without issue. I understand it's currently in its last year of production so there are some good deals about. Now with 4k on the clock fuel consumption is starting to improve on a recent 170 mile tow I got 28mpg, yesterday on a 40 mile solo run 46 mpg. The only issue I can see you having is the amount of boot space compared to the XC90 and XC70
  14. Thanks for the replies we left San Sebastián yesterday and have pitched up at Camping Aux Memes in the Gers department of the Midi Pyrennees it's a idyllic spot only 20 pitches, there are only 3 units here at present. May stay for a week then on down to the Med.
