Campingplatz am Rhein, Rudesheim,

caraman1
  • Rüdesheim am Rhein 2013 August Don't know 5 No Wi-Fi due to their being no capacity to the site. Yes Yes 51-100 Yes Yes Yes 5 Yes 10 5 Yes Yes good Next to the Campsite is an open air pool and sports complex which many from the site take advantage of. About 300 metres away is a very comprehensive shopping area with Aldi, Lidl and a couple of other supermarkets as well as a McDonalds, for the children of course! Also a petrol station. Rudesheim itself is a bit of an upmarket tourist resort which does very well from the visiting cruise ships. There is plenty to see and do and many eating and drinking establishments. The local Rhine cruise ships can be boarded from a jetty on the way into the town. Although there is plenty to do around the local area, the site itself is very quiet and peaceful and many campers can be found just sitting out and relaxing, many with a book and a glass of the local wine. 1/4 mile 5 Very well maintained, you can see them clearing up leaves and checking the Site. Because the owner sees newcomers to their pitch he is constantly monitoring the site. 5 Yes A nice atmosphere round the Site. Because there are no defined pitches it doesn't feel regimented. The buildings and features round the site give it a continental feel. http://www.campingplatz-ruedesheim.de/index-en.htm https://www.caravantalk.co.uk/community/uploads/monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-42594700-1378291751.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-86077700-1378291784.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-34740300-1378292070.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-93951700-1378296131.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-90520000-1379021540.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-66509800-1379021583.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-10868800-1379021599.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-14382000-1379021653.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-31271300-1379021670.jpg,monthly_09_2013/ccs-337-0-89938300-1379021780.jpg
Location on the Rhine and the Sites modern facilities, new toilet block and new men's toilet. Good bar and restaurant with Rhine views. Perfect English spoken. The Site owner takes you to your pitch and sees you in and then connects up the power.

It's a bit sad when people review a campsite and fail to see especially in Reception or even better in the window of Reception when it's closed if the campsite is recognised by one or more of the European organisations that offer Low Season Discounts like ACSI.

While the other element missing from this organisation is "Is the site OPEN all year?"

But maybe Caravan Talk Admin only go out in the Summer?

I eagerly wait to see all your comprehensive reports to show us how it should be done

We did have a constructive discussion with the Caravan Talk Supporters before we launched the database. If you provide any constructive comments we're happy to consider adding them to the database.

We have stayed here a couple of times. Its one of the less noisy sites on the Rhine and better still Rudesheim is home of the famous Asbach Brandy, my favourite tipple!!!

This famous speciality composed of authentic Asbach Uralt and coffee with a topping of whipped cream is ideal for any number of occasions.

Genuine constructive comments.

There is no mention of the location/nearest town in the title or in the opening to the review. Only the map at the bottom of the review shows 'Rudesheim' and that can be removed by clicking the X .

The camp website lists 200 pitches which makes it rather larger than the 51-100 given in the revue. .

Hi. We stayed here in June this year.

10 min stroll to Rudesheim town centre.

Yes they do accept ACSI

Lovely site with excellent facilities . . . . for men, the ladies block is being renovated this winter. However a totally new block has been recently completed (ladies & gents), very spacious with lovely waterfall etc etc etc but NO SHOWERS, very odd.

A stroll up Drosselgasse and a stagger back down is a must.

Lovely calm site.

Will return one day.

Would agree with Beejay that the size of the site is surprising. ...we stayed there en route to Black Forest and it didn't seem that large, perhaps they have purchased more land to add to the improvements. ....whatever, a nice site and pretty quiet in German terms. .....

If as suggested the site lists 200 pitches I'd be very surprised, as I said earlier we stayed here in June/July this year, the owner shows you to your pitch, I didn't see anywhere where units were too close to each other so I'd be very surprised at more than 100/120 pitches to be honest. Maybe during main holiday period they do cram them in a bit but I can't comment on that.

I have edited the title of the review to include the location. We have stayed there a couple of times and it can get pretty full although I don't recall it feeling any more crowded that say a Caravan Club site with grass pitches!
