It looks to me like the empty housing for a push in clock or led battery light. As it is at the foot of the bed above the tv table (I think) guess a clock.

It's a Bailey Unicorn Valencia, it's right in front of the fixed bed the picture has turned itself round, it's above the Venetian blind at the foot of the bed

Oh thanks for your ideas, I doubt if it's for a light as there are lots of lights in the room, maybe it could be for a clock

I know the Swift & Fleetwood caravans we had in the past had clocks with a rubber fins around them that just pushed into the hole.

 

Should still be available at dealers or ebay I guess.

I think clock as well. I bought mine off ebay so check the hole dia and buy one - they are quite cheap. Then put some paper over live end of battery when not in use, to save the battery.

Certainly would not be the mounting point for a bunk bed. The Bailey wall is nowhere near strong enough.

 

I vote for a clock mount - a bit of overkill though.
