Tempest Eb Or Avante 636

Recommended Posts

Is the tempest eb worth the additional £4k to £5k or so over the avante 636? The tempest has the sunroof thingy and the alde heating, but is it worth the premium?

If I'd have known I was going to be this thirsty this morning I'd have drunk more last night

Mmmmm. ... Good one that, the tempest is a stunning van, layout exactly the same as the 636 and you do get the better heater and more refinement, but I it's heavier and as you say not sure it's 4-5k worth more than the 636.

My budgets telling me 636, but if your have the funds and the vehicle to tug it. ..tempest is stunning. ..

Good luck

I'M OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER. ...But I don't. ...???

This is exactly the quandary I was in last year, the 636 fell below my budget but the Tempest was above, the perfect scenario would have been the Affinity but it was limited to four berth.

I eventually decided to bust the budget and went for the Tempest and I don't regret my decision. I must admit vanity did get the better of me as I also took into account the looks of the Crusader with the one piece sides and flush fit black out windows but the Alde heating really is excellent and worth a fair chunk, especially if you use it through the winter. At the time the sunroof window wasn't available but that would have only enforced my decision as I nearly bought a Coachman for that feature alone!

With all that said your question is a good one, is the Tempest worth over £4k more, I suppose the only right answer is its down to individual wants and needs, personally I would say yes it is but I don't think I would have been dissapointed with the 636 as I think that is also an excellent caravan.

Good luck with your choice.

If you intend to use the van 12 months of the year then you can be assured that its money well spent to get the alde heating also as its a family van you maybe happy a bit colder but willl you children and will they then still want to go out in the depths of winter to a cold van when they have a nice warm bedroom at home ?. We have had two alde equiped vans a 2011 super sirocco and now an aspire255 m,home and would never go back to blown heating, there is the first halfhour chill factor to remember but that is when you usually have the door open and closed bringing things into the van anyway, ,, no good with caravans but now we m,home when arriving on site, well 5 mins before i turn up the cab heater to full blow and the rear of the van is toastie mmmm, jim

:D:D:D:D the new solid construction 2013 elddis aspire 255 has replaced a 2008 jeep grand cherokee 3. 0 crd overland being chased by a 2011 elddis crusader super sirocco,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, after four elddis caravans it made sence to buy an aspire
