NickJ
Coachman Caravans will showcasing their 2014 tourers at the Motorhome & Caravan Show (15th-20th October) including a brand new range. ..the Vision. The Vision will be accompanied at the Show by all the Coachmans you'd expect to see - the Pastiche, VIP and Laser, all of which are sporting a fresh new look for 2014. Polyurethane components have been introduced for the new season's models, with innovative bonded construction techniques being utilised across the ranges. The Coachman Vision boasts eight different layouts incorporating top-notch materials and engineering techniques (see for yourself on the Coachman website), with prices for the various layouts ranging from £15,195. 00 up to £19,295. 00. The concept for the brand new Vision was simple, says Jim Hibbs of Coachman: “More and more young families are enjoying caravan holidays and we wanted to develop a versatile range of caravans for this particular market. Our aim was to design and develop a new and lighter tourer with all the Coachman attention to detail. ” “We have put a huge amount of work into the design process and quality assessment of the Vision and we are really proud of the end result,” added Jim. “We hope that visitors to the show will like it too!” Coachman Caravans will be on Stand no 19–39 at the Motorhome & Caravan Show at Birmingham's NEC from the 15th to the 20th October. AWanderingLancastrian
Hi Nick. Off Topic, But. Has it ever been a consideration to have CT car/caravan window stickers reprinted with our individual CT ID's on ? NickJ
Hey TTR I really like the idea of doing that, but we couldn't order a batch of stickers with all different names (it would cost a fortune to do them all individually and that's if we could find a printer who's do them all separately)... P'haps we could design some with enough space for members to write their forum ID's on if they wish. What do you reckon - worth putting to a vote? gravon42
I was thinking that when I was on a site a few weeks ago! Wondering whether there were any CT members on the site. I am going to make my own soon! It would need to be a white panel along the bottom edge,it could be like the ones on Freezer . ..Food Storage Bags. Chris308
They are great looking vans, although I would say that as I ordered one at the Lawns! Not sure about the 'new and lighter tourer' claim though. We have ordered the 570/6 which is 100mm shorter than the Amara it replaces yet it has a MIRO of 1,420 (Amara 1,399) and M. T. P. L. M 1,595 (Amara 1,585). The engineered front bed frame, gas struts, well upholstered seats, more solid feeling cupboard doors, lack of plastic framing inside cupboards, joints between worktops and panels were sealed properly etc set it apart from the other vans in the same price range. The lack of lockers above the front windows is made up for by the shelf which has electric socket and has a far better quality look to it than the ones behind the table in some of the competitors. Time will tell how good it is, but if it is as well made as the 10 year old Coachman we currently use then there won't be any complaints. NickJ
Thanks for the details Chris - let us know how you get on with your new Vision Quote Nick Marketing Assistant | Caravan Talk nick@caravantalk. co. uk CaravanTalk on Facebook
Chris308
Will do. Looking forward to getting our hands on it although we don't have a delivery date as yet. I would have liked to have seen an option for an extractor fan in lieu of the mini heki above the cooker as having had one already, I think that will be missed. Also no option for an external plug socket. Other than the front locker, there are no external lockers on the van. We are a little split on this. I like it because all the storage is inside the van and there are less cluttered lines on the outside. My MiL wonders where we will store the loo chemicals etc which she likes to keep in an external locker. The front locker has a large opening though so careful thought as to what is stored where is required.
mjp19
Hi chris 308 . ..Is the external socket not even an optional extra ???
Chris308
No. Extension lead out of the window if you want power in the awning.
mjp19
No. Extension lead out of the window if you want power in the awning. Oh, so it's a step backwards on a new model then . ...we very nearly purchased a new 2013 amara 580/5 a few months ago so we've been looking forward to the new vision, can't believe they won't even offer it as an extra . .need a outside plug for the beer fridge in the awning!!!! , will have a good look at the nec show but don't like the idea of spending 18k and then sticking a lead though a window
BDG
We have just ordered a new Vision 565 through a dealer, the external mains socket is available because it is their version of it with loads of extras on, quite a lot of the bigger dealers are going to have their own version of the Vision, all factory fitted. We've also got VIP fabrics from last season, external gas point, external blow vent for the awning, alarm system, heavy duty legs etc. So very pleased and looking forward to delivery in 4/5 weeks time. A small price to pay to have the dealer's name on the outside of the van. We are also getting an 8 year ingress warranty from the dealer, an additional 2 years on top of the Coachman standard. There is no doubt for me comparing the Vision to the Bailey Rimini and the Elddis Affinity the quality is far superior for a similar priced van. Whilst the Bailey does have the fabulous panoramic window, the quality just isn't there inside or out. The pull out central table on the Bailey well it's a joke, so weak and floppy it slopes downwards, one's dinner would end up on the floor!. The bathroom on the Bailey like the shower door all less quality than the coachman. The Affinity is very dark IMO and again open and shut the cupboard doors and the different in quality is immediate. We spent 3/4 hours comparing the 3 vans which were more or less next to each other at the dealers, the Coachman inside and out came out tops. Outside the lines on the Vision are fabulous again unlike the Bailey which has far more joints particularly on the front. So if you want the external power socket (which we did as well) then go to one of the dealers offering their own version of the Vision. Although the dealer we bought through said they could have fitted an external power socket for us if we had gone for the standard Vision but delivery would have been March 2014 for the model we wanted. It will be our first van from new and we have chosen the Coachman because we want something good quality that will last and fingers crossed it will
