My caravan is an Abbey GTS 420 (swift challenger 460) It is 4 years old. a split about 12 inches long has appeared at the base of the curved wall where it joins the shower tray. I have contacted Swift but they say it is not a common fault and as the caravan is out of warranty they will not help me. I think the problem is being caused by the shower tray not being properly supported. Have any other Swift owners had this problem and if so how was it resolved?
thanks

It happened to us on a 2000 Swift Blakemere. We drilled a 3mm hole at the end of each crack/split to stop it developing. When we sold it, the dealer replaced the shower tray.

We had a crack in our shower tray on our 2005 Ace Jubilee Courier. We have only just brought the van from a dealer and we noticed the crack on out first outing. The dealer honoured the repair. They injected a filled under the tray to support it, and then a rubberised layer was sprayed over the entire tray. The rubberised spray is actually quite good as it means it's now none slip!

I've no idea what the process is called or how much it costs, but the end result is good. Dealer who did our repair was Highbridge.

I can carry out this type of repair, for a standard size tray the cost would be around £295.

I have used them too on my 2010 Pastiche at home, Barry was the "man", even though Coachman would not agree the costs (more than 2 years old), after Barry had been in touch with them, they contacted me to agree to pay the replacement shower pod (about £360 incl fitting) as Barry confirmed the crack was due to original installation

Just got my van back fron caravanmedicswindon. He has repaired the shower tray using the speedcoat system. Excellent job, excellent service and a very acceptable price. Also incudes a lifetime warranty.
