I was working on my Valencia, in the front wet lockers, when I noticed that there was a black water stain running down from the approximate location of the front grab handles.
I removed the plastic insert covering the floor, and there were sure signs of damp on the woodwork.
I opened the other side and found the same water marks. I again lifted the plastic insert and there were signs of damp here too.
Upon closer inspection inside the locker, it was clear that water had come in through the hole that was used for the led lighting.

I called the dealer and asked if I could make the repair. They advised that I could.

I removed the handles - the screws were quite loose - and found traces of water ingress.
I filled the 4 screw holes and the led hole with standard bathroom silicone and refitted.

Cross fingers that all is now ok.

I would be interested to know if there are other vans out there with the same damp problem and also if you also feel that the screws were not particularly well done up.

I tried not to...

That is why I did not put Unicorn in the name.

I figured that any bailey van might have the problem as I am sure that one of the leaks was via the screwhole......

If your dealer is the Ashford side of Maidstone would not touch them with a barge pole.

I have just noticed at the weekend that the inside to the right hand side of my front locker had water ingress. I have not had a chance to check it out yet, but I think the best way to find the leak is to empty the locker, put the wife inside with a torch and fire the garden hose at the front. I suspect the front grab handle!!!.
PS Bailey Pageant Provence series 7 .

Hmm. My senator front locker isn't sealed as such, but has holes in the floor for water to drain out. Put I feel strangely compelled to lock the wife in there and run a hose over it to make sure!

Wiz,

yes we did buy our caravan from the dealer near Maidstone. We can't fault them, as we have bought from them before and have always had very fair dealings with them.
I see you are from the better part of Kent, the north is not so great IMO. :P
