When I was a Squaddie (many moons ago), I used to buy UK RHD Tax Free cars. Any warranty work required (regardless of manufacturer) was carried out by my local dealer here in Germany as all the warranties were pan-European, I never had any dramas getting work done, even though I hadn't bought the vehicle locally. I even got the Mehrwertsteuer (VAT) off the price of servicing. I don't see why caravans would be any different as long as there is a network of UK dealers. I might struggle with my Tabbert in UK as I don't think they are sold there but Adria, Hobby etc do so I can't see it being too much of a drama.

In fact I know it isn't a drama with cars because we once visited the UK in a German registered VW and the engine warning light came on. I took it to Hayseldens VW in Barnsley and they sorted it under warranty. No problem.

How much is the Knaus Lifestyle (the four berth one) in Germany? Last time I tried to look I got some Dutvh prices but they didn't look all that good.  I think I might not have searched very well though.

the Adria prices look a lot better in your neck of the woods.

Thanks! And sorry for hijacking the thread. It's the 550 model we like.

So that's a list of 21,600 Euro vs about £22,000.

Who knows, with the exchange rate as it is that might mean parity on UK prices soon!

My local Knaus dealer has been selling caravans to Brits for years (there used to be thousands of Brits stationed in MG), they speak English and can still supply to UK.

Don't forget, I've never failed to get less than a 10% discount off the list price too

Vague ideas of Bavaria (arriving from either Zeebrugge or Rotterdam). We did a bit of  the SE in 2014 (Freiburg, Bodensee, Heidelberg) and enjoyed it.

Plenty of nice places down there, lakes, mountains, cities etc. A long way from here where I am though. Dusseldorf, Koln (Cologne), Koblenz and all along the Rhine worth a stop over.

Note: Non of the above has anything to do with Adria Caravans, sorry  :o

I love Germany, not been for 25 years though, we're thinking of heading out there too with the van next year hopefully. Actually the Adria research led me to start looking at Slovenia, it looks gorgeous so that's on our list now too

BTW I think  Barnsdale Leisure sell Knaus as well.

I've never been to Slovenia but I've been to Bosnia which is also a former country belonging to Yugoslavia, (I went in a white armoured caravan with UN written on the side :) ), lovely place (apart from the obvious), the whole of the Balkans is great, 'mostly' nice people, great food, beware of any home-made Slivowitz anyone gives you though, it's like moonshine  :D

It's on our list too. Not that far, but we are waiting til the kids are a bit older. My friend's wife hales from there and it sounds lovely.

Barnsdale definitely do the Knaus, they have the one we like for sale atm

Caravan warranties are a very different ball game, here only the selling dealer will deal, might be different on mainland Europe. I remember one member looking at buying a caravan and was told the warranty wouldn't transfer in the UK. Can't remember who or what though.

Just noticed the 2018 tech specs are on Adria UK website now. MIRO for the Seine 612DL that we like has gone up from 1430 to 1501 kg. I thought the only difference was Alde is added now. Must be very heavy silver paint! Can anyone tell me what Adria include in the MIRO?

Thanks
