Hi - I have bought my self a 2 berth caravan and have rather successfully managed to take it away twice and as some one with no experience with caravans I am quite frankly shocked that every thing has worked beautifully!

UNTIL TONIGHT!!!

I am going away tomorrow and have been to collect van - all normal - towed it two mile to my house so I can be away first thing and its making this weird noise (very fast clicking) and water is dripping from where I attach the water tank.

The electrics as far as I can tell are not even on. ...

Why I lifted up the seats and played with the valves the noise stopped.

I then popped the pump into the water to see if that might clear some air etc and whilst the taps works - the noise from the pump or maybe tank was extremely loud.

There is no way of getting to a professional before leaving - now I'm not sure I should go?

Any suggestions welcomed - I am a single female and probably need some man advise!!

Welcome to the forum :).

First of all you can still go on holiday, worse comes to the worse you may not have any water, most sites have facitilities like sinks, taps anyway, or just buy some big bottles of water.

From what your describing it sounds like your water system has a pressure switch system, this means you should find a white pressure switch inside the caravan near where the water inlet is (you may of already played around with it). Or it could be attached to the back of the water inlet itself. If you look at this picture if will be one of these two: https://www. outandaboutlive. co. uk/images/image/OAL/Caravan/pressure-accumulator-vessel. jpg

The best thing to do first is to double check the water pump is connected properly, fill the barrel up, put the water pump in first THEN connect it to the caravan, switch the water pump on and if it's still just clicking or leaking or no water is coming out, make sure the pump is pushed in, wriggle it around, try to shake the pump around inside the water barrel if it's not sucking any water in (try not to take it out the water with it on).

If it still doesn't work reply on here and I will go through the proceedure of how to adjust the pressure switch. But I would like you to try to above first.

Thank you so much - what should I do with the pressure switch (if I can find it?)

I will try now and feed back.

You are too kind.

Best

Kelly

Hi there meandmyvan and :welcome: to CT.

Looks like suggestions are underway.

Might be better to get your posts moved to the general forum as not many will see them in Intro's then others may also benefit from your conclusions. :)

Hello - thank you for your advise - it would not let me post any where except for New People?!

Sounds like you have an on board pump and despite not thinking the electrics are on the pump is running. .Turn the pump off on the control panel.
