Folding Air Beams / First Time Using Air Awning

Evening all,

I'm hoping for some guidance!

Used my new (2nd hand) 390 air awning for the first time a few weeks ago.

Everything was good but the 2 outer beams folded at the bottom, the pressures were all correct.

Is this because I pegged it wrong? Didn't think I had, I pegged the 2 rear corners, inflated and then pulled out and pegged.

The first time I've also used awning carpet, what a difference.

Saying that it's only the 4th time using the van.

The pictures look fine, I peg mine in the same way, maybe the beams have twisted slightly in the outer tube?

Yeh I should have taken pictures of the inside.

Could that cause it to happen? I did twist one and it made it slightly better. But if the valves are in the opening it must be the other end that's twisted.

Will give it a go on the next outing

Hi

based on the photos it looks good, the beams do twist, even in a showroom environment they do move from being inflated and deflated, next time up don't inflate them fully and try to twist them round, don't be tempted to go right into the bladder though as a whole load of issues can occur

Looks a nice location

Mine has always had a slightly "knock kneed" look on the outermost vertical legs.

If it's really bad I try to twist the covering around the bladder and make sure there is plenty of air in the bladders.

But it's never let me down, so I live with it.

It inflates, doesn't leak & tbh having bent bladders doesn't affect the use of the awning from my side. It will only bother me when wife starts to complain, then I'm in a whole host of trouble. ...

This is a response that I got from KampaMax when I had a similar problem.

Hi audio2,

Oh wow, that's quite severe. The tubes can sometimes twist when the awning is not fully inflated. Normally this will be fixed by simply re-inflating the awning, however if it has not in this case, I would recommend you take a look at the video below.

Guys thank you so much for the replies.

I did twist one of them and made it a little better so will look at it a little further investigation but as people have said wasn't a massive issue I just don't like it not being right.
