Has anyone been to this event previously?

Is there much to see?

Is it worth going?

John

Hi John. I was one of the unfortunate ones that went the first year that they changed venue from the 'G' Mex building  - it was not one for writing home about - I put a post on to CT in my previous ID a few years back.

I am assured that it has vastly improved as have the toilet, the cash machine facilities and the catering arrangements.

I am away in Tenerife from the 16th until the 20th but will endeavour to go on the Sunday if I have the energy after getting back.

Hi John, it's a massive show with plenty of free parking spaces ONCE YOU GET IN.
We are going again this year BUT we plan to get there after 11 a.m. When the rush has gone down a bit.
Everybody tends to get there early and get tangled up with work traffic on the Thelwall viaduct. This can stop you up to 3/4 hr sometimes. Don't necessarily park on the correct car park, try parking a tiny bit further away and walk a bit further but you will still get there easier.
After about 2 p.m. The crowds tend to thin out and the going is easier.
Try to leave about 4 p.m. Before the works rush home.. ... ..Peter

We go on a Saturday, by public transport, as I have a bus pass. Train to Deansgate, and the X50 express bus to the Trafford Centre.

The X50 also goes to the Piccadilly Gardens.

See the top one here:                     http://www.tfgm.com/...ml?UserText=X50

Also a good excuse to have a night out around Manchester.

Remember if you are a C.C. member, that you can purchase your ticket online £6.50 Thursday or £7 other days by quoting CCD6 for Thursday or TCC3 for other days. Standard price is £9.50.

Unless it's very much improved, the catering is quite naff and expensive, so sarnies for us.. ... .Peter

Been every year to Event City and enjoyed it except for once when it was freezing cold.

Probably better to use public transport as there always seems to be a long queue of cars waiting to get into the car park.

The Trafford Centre can be a nightmare for traffic at the best of times, so I'm told. My idea of purgatory.

I only go because of the show.

Thanks for all the information about transport, parking, arrival & departure times, ticket costs, discounts, etc . ...   but as per the OP - is it a show worth going to? Is there a good selection of vans to see? Are there plenty of accessories on view?

Thanks, John

There is so much to see that is true. So much so that you actually get weary looking.
Plenty of accessories, some have nothing to do with caravanning, some that can be quite useful.
Static caravans, motor homes, touring caravans by the dozen, usually split up into two groups :-
Dealers who show all different makes they sell.
Manufacturers who show their complete range.

Personally I pace myself so that I see just what I want, the stalls are usually grouped together anyway.
The Hall is massive, wear a comfortable pair of shoes and take some sarnies. We are going Friday.. ... .Peter

Well Peter, I booked for the CC club day on Thursday, but the tickets seem to imply that I can go any day, so not sure when I'll go.

Worth checking. If you paid the £6.50 discount price it's probably for Thursday only, and should say so. If you paid the £7.00 discount price it should be for any day. Enjoy the day.

Geemac is right Johnaldo. £6.50 is Thursday only, Caravan Club day.
It's £7 Friday to Sunday. In the C.C. Mag it does state quite clearly.. ... ...Peter
