Rock Peg Recommendations?

Having bent a good proportion of my rock pegs pegging out the awning on a hard standing once again I really need to invest in a quality item.

Does anyone have any preference? Are screw in pegs any good?

TIA

Be careful with screw in pegs, there was a thread on here a little while ago saying that a chap who was using these pegs caught his finger in the ladder and severed his finger, so be careful

I remember that . Think I'd rather hit my finger with the mallet ( and have!!)

Or even worse a 1 Kg lump hammer. My black finger nail has almost grown out after 7 months. :o

Mine came from Aldi cheap enough to replace if bent.

I have always used Blue Diamond rock pegs,

they do need sharpening and straightening,

but they cope with everything I have thrown

at them so far. A very reasonable price for

20 pegs at a tenner a box.

I also carry a few of the extra long green topped

rock pegs that most sites sell, I use these for guys

or double pegging in the worst weathers.

No idea what mine are called, they have a black pvc hook on them & are available to buy singularly in my local dealers. Hammered in with a lump hammer ( gave up on useless mallets ) they have never let me down so far regardless of how stoney the ground.

I have an older version of THESE. They have yellow plastic heads and do not glow. The rippled effect goes up the shaft more? I put them in with a lump hammer and take them out with a homemade peg pull which is like a ‘gaffe’ or with a claw hammer.

Only ever bent one, trying to get it out of a tree root I had nailed through!

Screwfix coach bolts. Lump hammer to get them in and claw hammer to get them out. Works every time!
