Fireman Iain
With all the complaints on here about shoddy quality and faulty caravans, I've felt we're missing out as ours has been 100% faultless since we bought it at the beginning of the year. Until now. I went to light the oven yesterday, for probably only the 3rd time ever, and although it sparks up, it won't stay lit. I'm surmising the thermocouple has failed. Damn lousy build quality, Swift should be ashamed, terrible service, will never buy another. ....?? As I nearly always cook on the BBQ or hob, I'm not too bothered, our dealer can sort it at the 1st service in a few months time. As faults go, I couldn't be less concerned. Buying our van is still the best choice we've made for a long time.
Easy T
If it were our oven it would have to be sorted before then - can't imagine no lamb roast over Christmas Quote Alan 2005 Nissan X-trail 4WD diesel and Swift Charisma 540 2012 Lunar Clubman ES 2018 Lunar Clubman ES
chrisbee
Strangely enough on our 3rd service it was picked up that the oven/grill fan wasn't working so it was replaced under warantee. When I informed Mrs chrisbee she told me she wasn't aware there was one, it had not worked from new. The young guy who did the servicing was relatively new to the dealer so maybe he was aware of it's existence whereas the 'more experienced' bloke wasn't. Doosan
There was a known fault on some ovens not staying alight and was found to be the rubber seal were the door closes on the oven. This needed a modification to the seal by cutting a small portion out so as to let some air in. http://www. caravantalk. co. uk/community/topic/75216-spinflo-oven-wont-stay-alight/?hl= oven won#39;t stay alight Hope this helps. Seaman
Iain, I know what you mean about build quality. We were away in our new Lunar last week. I was incensed to find a loose screw. A quick phone call to the supplying dealer soon had them tearing down from Oxford to tighten it up. I can't stand shoddy workmanship or anything with a screw loose!! ?? Easy T
We had a problem with our oven and grill whilst away for 2 weeks over Christmas. Fan would not work nor the igniter. It had previously been stripped down to fix a loose grill burner. I had a chat with the dealer's service section and decided that they must have trapped the ignition wire in the rebuild. It was resolved by taping a bottle top over the ignition button so that I would not use it automatically and replacing the fuse. The alternative would have been to travel 40 miles home for me to cook boxing day and Christmas meals!
