Glen and Les
We have a Safari Chef original and although we really like it, we don't like the fact that the control knob is just a valve to open/close the gas, with absolutely no control whatsoever! Despite marking the knob where the flame goes out, we (I should say Les) finds it very frustrating, to the point where we now use our electric pan first. Noticed at the recent show that they've launched the Safar Chef 2 and it now comes with auto ignition and a proper control knob, just like the other Cadacs, so upon returning home I emailed CADAC to see if we could purchase the new knob to replace ours. Unfortunately they're not interchangeable, but CADAC did admit that the reason for the upgrade was the number of complaints they have received about the "uncontrollable" control knob! Don't think we'll be upgrading just to change the knob, but thought other members who are potentially considering a purchase would be pleased to hear this. 2 Quote 2019 Ford Kuga 2. 0 (150 bhp) AWD Manual and 2022 Coachman Acadia GTS 565. Durbanite
Thanks for the heads up. We ordered what we thought was the Safari Chef 2, but it turns out it si the old version as it is the 2014 version. As we are still waiting for it, we need to send it back and claim a refund. Definitely - the new version is far better (well the knob is anyway!). Quote 2019 Ford Kuga 2. 0 (150 bhp) AWD Manual and 2022 Coachman Acadia GTS 565.
