So has anyone actually bought one of these? The VIP 545/4 or the Laser 650/4?

David.

We are on our 2nd VIP 545/4 great layout up to 2014 but I do not like the 2015 revision with the full width bathroom in the middle.

I also have the 545/4 2014. The 2015 model bed is slightly shorter and with the wall at the bottom of it will make it a bit more restrictive. Not sure how easy it is to get things into the storage under the bed either.

How do you have a full width bathroom in the middle of a van - is there a door each side so you can walk through ? ;)

Yes, you walk through bathroom to reach bedroom. I suppose it could work well if you have people sleeping in the front so they can reach bathroom without passing the fixed bed but wouldn't suit me.

Wouldn't suit me either - there would be no room for the bath, sink and toilet if you have a door on both sides !! And wheel arches to consider.

The Shower and Toilet are in the same place, the sink has moved to the end of the bed on a floor to ceiling wall. There are doors either side of the sink that give you access to either side of the bed!

Not sure it would work for me - one of the reasons I grabbed one of the last two 2014 models back in October.

Just looked at a video of it - no good for me as I couldn't fit a bath in - the shower is tiny !! Even the twin axle 4 berth model with the end washroom has a tiny shower. That's why we went for a side fixed bed with large rear washroom where I could replace the shower with the bath tub.

We had a 2014 545/4 Pastiche and while i loved the bed at the rear i hated the tiny bathroom having to brush your teeth sitting on the loo and no room to bend over the sink and the circular shower was tiny

Changed for this years 574/4 transverse bed with end bathroom suits our needs so much better so bear this in mind when looking at a new van

I agree, all of the circular showers seem to be tiny, that's why I did this. .post-65272-0-09952000-1436988864_thumb.jpg

It is as we all know a compromise when choosing a caravan we have a 2014 545/4 VIP, if the 575/4 had been available then we would have given it serious consideration . On looking at videos of the 575 and viewing it at shows, the access around the base of the bed at night would be a major consideration for us .

We would certainly not be interested in the new 545/4 layout as the bed is not long enough so my feet would be wedged up against the footboard/wall .

I am only 6ft so hardly a giant, being able to have my feet dangling out the bed is great for me .

Also i know they describe these vans as 4berths but in all seriousness they are really just luxury 2berths . The lounge area being far to small to seat 4 adults in comfort .

We love ours, the above are only observations not complaints . As i said previously with Caravans its usually a tick box job .

We bought the 575/4 as neither of us could get out of bed from the inner side of the one sided fixed bed owing to dodgy knees. I can't get past the end of the island bed at night with a duvet in position without a great deal of difficulty as my thighs are too chunky. Hubby can manage it but he has very thin legs.
