Conway Folder Camper - Battery Charging

This afternoon I was helping some newbie friends hitch up to a 20 yr old Conway folder. Been well looked after and it has EHU socket and battery. The previous owner says he ran most stuff off the mains and battery charging was ONLY when being towed via the 12S socket.

Now, is it normal for them to NOT have a charger? I was going to suggest they put a charger on. The previous owner says the battery was only used for fridge controls and water pump so they don't use so much battery power - hence no charger.

Anyone with previous knowledge on these would be helpful.

We had a Conway Countryman folding camper for a number of years in the 1990's.

Ours had the battery in the front locker which I used to remove and charge inside the house before every trip. There wasn't an on board charger fitted.

Our battery was used primarily for the foot operated water pump and any 12v lights we used.

Cheers,

Steve

The couple of trailer tents I had had no charger,

you charged it at home for a weekend away or

ran on mains. Car connections were lights only.

Our folding camper Conway Crusader 1998 model charged via the EHU or via the car 12S. Charger was located in the locker with the battery
