Rodders53 Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 You can come a cropper if you have a very heavy 12V load and the caravan 12V psu can't supply that much current . .. but otherwise no real benefit for having one. As you've encountered no issues last season I see no reason why this would be different. SOME older (very, very old) caravan 12V power supply designs needed a battery to act as a smoothing load, and without one - in theory - the psu output voltage could rise excessively (potentially damaging some attached equipment) . .. Stevan Posted April 27, 2015 Share Posted April 27, 2015 On quite a few vans you can exceed the power output of the psu if you use all the 12v equipment at the same time.
