Towcar summary

What's good?

Excellent gearbox and fuel economy. A/C works well as do the heated front seats.

What's bad?

Basic spec, quite noisy with a harsh teutonic ride which took a while to get used to. The stupid engine cut out when stoped drives me nuts. The specification is very basic, no rear window wiper or folding mirrors for example.

Would you recommend it?

Yes

Towing performance *****

How well does it tow?

Very well, best to use sports gearbox setting in hilly country or around town to stop it shifting up too early. The steering paddle gearbox override is often useful. We are towing a 1400Kg Lunar.
Economy varies 29 to 40 depending on terrain. 75Kg noseweight advised.

Solo performance ***

What's it like without the caravan?

OK. The ride can be harsh on rough roads, I've owned more comfortable cars.

Reliability *****

Anything to look out for?

Make sure you get all the accessories you need because nothing much comes as standard.

Practicality *****

Is it easy to live with?

It sits on our driveway without complaint. It has enough room for two oldies and a dog. I guess the estate version could be better for caravanning.

Buying experience *****

Did you buy it new or used?

Used

Where did you buy it?

Independent showroom

What was the seller like?

Fine,
