Towcar summary

What's good?

Smooth ride,quiet,decent kit,8 speed auto,active suspension.
Excellent emissions,low company car tax.

What's bad?

No Ski Slot,Lumpy stop start that always defaults to on.
The apps are a bit bizarre like a twitter feed with preset phrases like :
"It's chilly outside!Fortunately,I'm sitting in my nice warm BMW" that you can upload to your followers as you drive around!!!
(I am not kidding!)
The "last mile" app that guides you back to your car via google maps, it worked initially now it only seems to track my phone!Noone at BMW seems to know why!
Apparently the facebook app has been discontinued.
I wonder why?

Would you recommend it?

Towing performance *****

How well does it tow?

Hard to tell my 645 Swift is on the back, relaxed incredibly stable, a total pleasure.

Solo performance *****

What's it like without the caravan?

As fast as any sane person would ever need and incredibly comfortable.

Reliability *****

Anything to look out for?

It does not have the basic stuff you take for granted on a Ford/VW split rear seats, ski slot etc.

Practicality ****

Is it easy to live with?

For me yes, not as practical as a hatchback but overall compensates with a relaxed drive.
I was a bit concerned at buying a car which is a fairly old design but with the new 2 litre engine(relatively) it transforms the car.
My previous 3 series(2012 f30) was a total banger in comparison, despite being a much newer design.
In fact anyone considering a 3 series, try a 5 it is a much better car in every department(except looks)and cheaper.(when you match kit levels)

Buying experience *****

Did you buy it new or used?

Where did you buy it?

Franchised dealer

What was the seller like?

Company car

Wasn't there something recently about that car not being suitable for towing?

Google time methinks.
