Audi A6 Allroad 2010 review
It's big, roomy and very comfortable. Silky smooth V6 is just a peach. In normal 'D' mode its seamless power wafts you to your desired speed, select 'S' mode drop the suspension and it's a very different car. Still silky smooth but flooring the loud pedal is eye opening to say the least. Cornering in either mode is very sure footed and the Quattro system making the most of the grip afforded by the 245 section tyres. Covering miles in this car is effortless, even better than my E300 Merc. The level of equipment is very good I can't think of anything else I would need in a car, it even has a useful retractable dog net and sliding cargo tie down points in the load space. Sound system is spot on whatever your taste in tunes. It's going to be a tough decision when it's time to change this car, more than likely just buy a newer model.
Would you recommend it?
How well does it tow?
I was surprised how well the car drove with the caravan. It's a big unit being A sterling Elite Searcher. The theoretical ratio doesn't come out to good stating the caravan is too heavy for the car. I did a comparison between the 3.0TDi and the 3.0 TFSI. The TDi is 25kg heavier than the TFSI. The TFSI report comes out ok whereas the TDI report says the caravan is 24kg too heavy for the car?? I'm a little confused by this as they are basically the same car apart from one is petrol the other diesel. Regardless of this the car tows really well, motorways are no problem with the car feeling pretty planted and in control.
We had to tow up a fair grassy slope on one site to get to our pitch and then reverse into position it didn't spin a wheel unlike our BMW neighbours who had a bit of fun getting into position.
What's it like without the caravan?
See whats good above.
Anything to look out for?
Nothing so far.
Is it easy to live with?
Every journey is a pleasure.
Did you buy it new or used?
Where did you buy it?
What was the seller like?
Very good, its my 3rd car from the same dealer, we will definatly be looking to buy our replacement from the same place when the time comes.
